I was by myself at lunch with a plate of disgusting pizza in front of me.
"Eat it, Ronnie." The security guard says.
"This food is shit, it has real tomatoes as freaking pepperoni. I know we have to eat healthy and all, but this is over the top and it's plain disgusting. I rather live off eggs."
"Veronica, stop arguing with the security guard and follow me." Krystal says coming out of nowhere.
"Am I going to the white room for arguing?"
"No."
"Then why am I going with you?"
"Since it's your last month here we're supposed to interview you."
"Interview me?"
"A couple of the people who work here and I are going to ask you a couple of questions to see if you're ready to leave."
'This will be easy.' I think.
We enter the office and there's Mr. White, the nurse, and Arthur?
I froze on the spot. He's really here, my shrink from back home is really here.
"Arthur!" I exclaim.
He gets up to hug me.
"Don't tell them about my relationship with your mother." He whispers in my ear.
"Okay."
We pull away.
"What are you doing here?" I ask, forgetting about the other people here.
"I'm here to see if you're ready to go home soon."
"Please sit down." Krystal points to the chair in the middle.
I sit with Arthur beside me. I take his hand for comfort, he gives me a light smile.
"Veronica, we're going to get you off the medication for two weeks to see how you react." Krystal says.
"Okay."
She looks over at Arthur.
"You say you've experienced her before when she's off her medication?"
"I have." He replies.
"Anything we have to worry about?" Krystal asks.
"She tends to get a bit temperamental or sometimes she'd just lock herself in her room feeling depressed."
Krystal looks back at me.
"Do you think you can cope without the medication Veronica?"
"Yes."
After that, the questions started. They asked the same questions Arthur used to ask back home, like how I felt, if I've been experiencing any suicidal thoughts which surprisingly I haven't had because of a certain someone named Hunter. I wanted to get better so Hunter and I can be together without him worrying about me or my tantrums.
Finally, after two long hours of sitting with questions being asked Krystal finally said I was more than safe to leave by the end of the month.
I was so excited.
Arthur was currently hugging me goodbye.
"Can you please tell Marilyn and Ivan that I love them and miss them a lot."
"And me?"
"I love you too old man. Weird as it is but you're my closest friend I've ever had, you helped me when I was feeling down, you know my deepest secrets that not even my family know."
