Mason looked at me, then to the floor. "I'm sorry," he whispered. Then he leaned forward and kissed me. My eyes widened in shock, and I backed away. The look of hurt on his face was nothing compared to how guilty I was.

"I'm sorry. It's just-" I started, and shook my head. "It's getting late. I'm gonna go to bed," I said as Mason got up. We avoided looking at each other the rest of the night.

The whole night all I did was toss and turn. When morning came, I got up, changed and slipped out of my room. The maid was nowhere in sight, so I snuck into the kitchen.

There was a bowl of fruit sitting on the table, so I grabbed what I could and left. I didn't want to take all, or the maid would suspect.

"I'm scared to get close and I hate being alone.

I long for that feeling to not feel at all.

The higher I get, the lower I'll sink.

I can't drown my demons, they know how to swim."

I quietly sang as I made my way back to my room. (Can You Feel My Heart ~Bring Me the Horizon)

Dean and Mason watched as I entered the room, silently closing the door behind me.

"I got breakfast. It's not much, but it'll do," I looked up at Mason, who averted his gaze. He was still upset about the previous night.

"Good, cause I'm starving," Dean grabbed an orange and tore it open.

"I can tell," I laughed and handed Mason an apple. He took it without looking at me. I put the rest of the fruit on my dresser.

"We need to get rid of the Aqua Raiders. They're hurting innocent people. Even the ones who can't control fire," Dean spoke up.

"Yeah. I saw one group beating a boy just cause he wouldn't tell where his brother, a fire controller, was. It's awful," Mason shook his head.

The two brothers began to speak of plans and ways to stop the Aqua Raiders. Standing in the corner of my room, I tuned out the two. Then I heard a faint creak at the door. Someone was listening.

Dean and Mason were still talking, completely oblivious to the fact that we were being spied on. Running to the door, I shoved it open and stared Mary in the face.

Her eyes widened slightly, and she backed up. Mason and his brother shut up instantly.

"You're not welcome here," I snapped at the maid.

"No," she laughed, her eyes now red. "It's you who isn't welcome here."

I jumped back as two Aqua Raiders landed beside Mary. It took me only a few seconds to process what was going on. We were having an Aqua Raiders invasion.

"Run!" Dean yelled, pushing past me and dragging us down the hall. We ran as fast as we could, the Aqua Raiders quickly gaining on us.

I pushed a door open to see my large courtyard in front of me. Dean continued to run beside me, but we were forces to stop. Mason wasn't anywhere in sight.

"Wh-where's Mason?" Dean asked in a panicked voice. He spun around, frantically searching for his brother.

"I don't know, but we gotta keep moving!" I yelled as three Aqua Raiders busted out of a window.

Dean nodded, still worried for his younger sibling. He then shot ahead of me. I followed him, keeping an eye on the invaders as I ran.

"Scarlet! Watch out!" Dean yelled. I spun around to face him, but it was too late. There was a loud bang, and Dean was on the ground.

A/N

Okay, I know this is random, but one of my cats is pregnant. She's gonna have kittens soon, so I need some ideas for names. Thanks! ^w^
