Gareth fell back, holding his face. I stared at him in shock. Mason stood in front of me, ready to strike again.

"You really shouldn't of done that," Gareth smiled. Why was he smiling?

"Scarlet, attack Mason," Gareth stared at me, smirking. Mason stepped away from me. For some reason, I obeyed Gareth. Throwing my fist at Mason, a flame scorched his arm.

"I'm sorry! I can't...I can't control myself!" I continued attacking Mason.

"It's okay! He's a Perser," Mason yelled, dodging my attacks.

"A what?"

"A Perser. He can look into your eyes and mentally persuade you to do his work," Mason explained. Gareth laughed.

"Well, Scarlet. Now I know what you are," Gareth gave me an evil grin. "You can stop now. I have what I want."

I stopped instantly and looked at Gareth. He held an envelope in his hand.

"How did you get that?" Mason asked.

"I have my ways," Gareth responded.

"What is it?" I looked from Gareth, to Mason.

"It's a package. For you," Mason gave me a serious look. Once again, Gareth laughed.

"Not anymore," Gareth ripped the envelope into tiny pieces, small pieces of paper fluttering everywhere.

"No!" Mason stepped towards him, but Gareth was too fast. He ran off, disappearing from sight.

"I'm sorry, Scarlet," Mason looked at me.

"Who was that letter from?" I asked. Just before he answered, I pointed to his pocket.

"Hey, what's that?" I looked at it. A piece of paper was sticking out of it. He looked, pulled the paper out, and read it.

"It...It's for you...He must of put it in my pocket," Mason spoke.

"Who?" I questioned.

"Same guy the envelope was from."
