"What is she?" I asked Mason as we ran.
"A Dark Angel. They're rare, but often help the Aqua Raiders. They believe fire controllers are mistakes. That they're not meant to live," Mason explained. We followed a dirt road that led to a village.
"Are they gone?" I asked, looking around but finding nothing.
"It's probably a trick," Mason warned. I nodded, and we continued to run.
As we got further into the village, I began to think we were safe. I stopped, and Mason did the same.
"We need a plan. How bout this: You go look for a place for us to stay for the night. I'll find out more about this place and get dinner. Sound good?" Mason asked.
"Yeah...Meet back here in an hour," I told him. He nodded, then walked off. I began to search for a hotel. It took thirty minutes, but I found one.
"Hello. How can I help you?" A lady greeted me as I walked inside.
"One room for the night," I told her. She gave me the key, and I gave her what money I had.
Since I still had half an hour left, I decided to tour the village. To start, I walked to the town center, where a tall fountain stood.
Then it caught my eye. A tall man, looking at the fountain. I couldn't see his face, but he looked awfully familiar. He looked like Xavier.
But Xavier was dead. There was no bringing him back. I sighed and walked off.
"Scarlet! Look what I got!" a voice called. I turned to face it, and smiled. Mason ran towards me carrying a bag.
"Food, I hope," I walked up to him. He handed the bag to me. Inside were two trays of food.
"Ya find a place?" Mason asked. "Yeah. This way," I led him to the hotel.
We went to our room and sat down. Mason stared at the floor, a sad look in his eyes. He was probably thinking of Dean.
"You take this bed," I got up and let him lay down. "I'm sorry. For everything," I looked at him, then turned away.
"Don't be," he turned on his side and closed his eyes. "Get the light?"
"Yeah," I flipped the light switch off and got in my bed.
"Oh, I found out there's a rumor going around the village. That someone from the Flame household is here, in town," Mason murmured.
My eyes shot open. Flame was my last name.
