"Xavier? I'm going outside to the garden," I called to my butler. He hesitated, then nodded. Ever since I was little, he's been a bit...Overprotective of me.

My parents died when I was young, leaving their vast fortune to me. It's just me, Xavier, and some other workers. We live in a large mansion. My life may seem perfect, but trust me on this. It's far from perfect.

Xavier is also my guardian. That means that while he serves me, he controls me. I can't go anywhere other than my own home. I can't attend public school. I can't see anyone who doesn't work for me and so on.

The only reason for me not going insane is the garden. It's large, and I can be alone.

"Okay, Scarlett. Be careful," he called out to me.

"Will do," I smiled and walked to the large doors that led outside. Two butlers, not as important as Xavier, greeted me and opened the doors.

A warm summer breeze blew into my hair. There wasn't a cloud in sight. It was perfect.

I walked past tall hedges and small ponds until I came across my usual spot.

Sitting down, I watched some fish in a nearby pond. Before I knew it, I was asleep. But not for long.

Someone cleared their throat behind me. I jumped up and turned to face Xavier.

"Scarlett, you have been invited to a festival. It is tommorow night. If you want to attend, I shall come with you," he looked at me.

I looked back at him in disbelief. He was actually going to let me interact with the outside world.

"I'll go," I told him. He nodded.

"It is probably best if you get some sleep. You look tired," Xavier grabbed my shoulder and led me inside.

"Who invited me to this festival?" I asked him.

"The Aqua Raiders," he replied.

"The who?"

"The Aqua Raiders. It's a group of elite fighters," he said quickly.

"Why did they invite me?"

"I...Don't know. When we go, keep your guard up," he warned me. I looked at him in confusion.

Something was going on. Something Xavier knew about.
