(Fay's POV)

I watched the disaster unfold. I couldn't tear my eyes away from Aatos tumbling towards the vampire, my mate. I couldn't believe the sudden urge I felt to protect this man with all of my strength. Though, I'm sure he could handle this one wolf, my himself just fine. I stood in the center of the bar, watching the event unfold and there was nothing I could do to stop Aatos from hurting this newcomer. Mustering all my strength, I kept myself planted on the ground as I watched the two men, sparring with each other.

I watched in horror as Aatos pinned the vampire to the floor, threatening to tear out his throat. I was beginning to shake as I spoke, "No.... Aatos, please." He jerked his head in my direction, not taking his eyes off the vamp. "What did you just say?" He spat the words like poison. I took a deep breath and repeated myself, more confidently. "I said don't kill him, Aatos. I won't let you." I stood to my feet, I wasn't shaking anymore, surprisingly. His eyebrows shot up and he huffed. The vampire beneath him was smirking, like he had just won this argument. I shot him and look, "Quite that smirking or I'll smack it off your face."

His eyebrows shot up as well, not expecting that reply. He continued to smile, so I just ignored it, even though I didn't want to take my eyes off that perfect face of his. Why did vampires have to be so freakishly perfect? I mean what is it with these guys? Everything has to be to perfection, otherwise, it will not do. I pushed those thoughts away and focused on the task at hand. Which I had no clue what I was doing. And that wasn't good at all, especially since I was the median between a pissed off Alpha, and an uncaring, yet beautiful, vampire that happened to be my mate.

I sighed and took a step back, hoping they wouldn't attack each other. Or at least Aatos wouldn't attack this man. If he could even be considered a man at all. Aatos must have gotten my message because he took a step back as well, motioning that he would not advance. Unfortunately, the stranger took this an advantage. He took several large strides towards me and stopped next to me on my right. I yelped quietly at the notion. I saw Aatos' body tense but he didn't move from his spot. I could feel the hairs on the back of my neck stand as he was just standing there, watching me breath. In... out....in....out... It made me slightly uncomfortable, so I shifted my feet, suddenly becoming very interested in them.

He leaned towards me and took in a deep breath, smelling me. I stiffened, afraid to move. He chuckled slightly at the action, I felt as I might melt at the sound of his amusement. I slowly lifted my head to see Aatos fuming with steam practically coming out of his ears. I couldn't help the small laugh that came out of my mouth. He heard me and narrowed his eyes, I had noticed his nervousness. I couldn't stop my gaze as it slowly made its way to my mate's beautifully chiseled face. I sucked in a slight breath when I realized just how close he was to my face.

Before I could even blink, Aatos had ripped me away from him, until I was behind him once again. I growled low in my throat, telling him to stop doing that. I didn't care if he was an Alpha, he wasn't my Alpha. He didn't have the authority to order me around, to be my ruler. I had lived my life long enough without an Alpha or a pack, that I think I could survive another drunken rampage without them. I hadn't realized I was talking out loud before Aatos cleared his throat, interrupting my thoughts. I looked up at him with wide eyes, knowing they heard everything, again. I lowered my head, knowing he was upset with my words. He stepped towards me and I heard the vampire growl before I caught his movement. He had lowered into an offensive stance, preparing to attack.

I lifted my hand barely, motioning for him to stand down. He saw this and gently rightened himself. Aatos stood in front of my face, my chin in his grip. I looked him straight in the eyes, unknowing of his intentions. I wasn't sure I wanted to know what they were, he was full of surprises. He smirked and I hit his arm. "Aatos, I'm going to need you to take a few paces back, before you get taken out." I cleared my throat, nodding towards my mate. I wasn't even sure I could call him that, I didn't even know his name. Which I probably should have asked, before all the shit went down. As if reading my thoughts, he spoke. "My name is Ryder, Ryder Malcom." I froze. Malcom? He put his hands up, the universal sign that he meant no harm. "Wait, please. Let me explain."

His voice was the only thing that kept me in place, besides Aatos holding me down with his strong arms. I writhed as he came closer to me, trying to pry myself from the Alpha's hands. He growled, "Stop moving. He means no harm." "Says the man who tried to kill him less than five minutes ago." I seethed. His eyes narrowed. I knew I was treading on thin ice now. I took in a deep breath and held it for a few seconds before letting it out slowly. I nodded, "Alright. You can let go now, Aatos. Thank you." He hesitantly released my arms and stepped back. Apparently, Ryder took this as an invitation to step forward.

I growled, still not comfortable with his presence. He smelled too much like a vampire for my liking. He stopped in his tracks, and he didn't move a single muscle. Which I was glad for, because I probably would have gotten distracted as I watched them move underneath his tight fitting shirt. I hadn't noticed what he was wearing before, maybe I was just distracted by the way he smelled or the way he just casually walked into a bar, with two wolves on the rise. Either way, I didn't notice his clothes. He had a black, tight fitting shirt. He was also wearing a black leather jacket, with chains hanging off. I could practically see his abs through his shirt. It made my mouth water, my wolf decided it was time to show herself. She started prancing around, making weird whining noises in my head.

I had to quiet her down before I, myself, started to pant. Now, that would have been embarrassing. I knew she wanted out, I wanted to feel the breeze on my fur as I ran around the woods, without a care in the world. She was just itching to get a taste of that vampires skin. I almost kicked myself at the thought. I kept going. He was wearing a pair of designer jeans that were a dark blue, almost black. He was wearing a pair of blue converse, which didn't really go with his outfit. I shook my head and smiled slightly. "What are you smiling about, little wolf?" Ryder asked taking another tentative step forward. I didn't care anymore. Those shoes so did not go with that outfit. I continued to shake my head while I answered, "Did you dress yourself this morning? Because those shoes so do not go with that outfit."

I couldn't help the fit of laughter that escaped my mouth. I bent over and damn near tumbled to the ground. I didn't bother stopping either, I just layed on the ground, unable to breath. After a few moments, I gathered myself and stood. The boys were now standing next to each other, conversing. They obviously didn't care about my fashion advice, so I made my way over to them. They were sitting at the bar, one stool in between them. Lazily, I plopped down on the stool, and rested my head on my arms. I sighed heavily, a sign that I was bored and needed something to do, now. "Little wolf?" I tilted my head in Aatos's direction. "Yes?" "Would you mind if Ryder asked you a few questions?"

I tilted my head in the other direction, giving him a good, long stare before answering. "Sure", I yawned, "But you better make it quick. I'm fucking tired." I heard Aatos stifle a laugh at my vulgar language. Ryder cleared his throat, catching my attention. My eyes snapped open, "Told ya." He smiled wryly. "Fay", I lifted one of my brows. "Hmm?" "Would you mind if I did something real fast?" That caught my attention. Both my eyes flashed open and a grin spread across my face, for no apparent reason. Ryder seemed taken aback by my reaction, because he blinked a few times before continuing. He opened his mouth to speak, but I held up my hand, cutting him off.

"Wait! I have something to say." I looked over at Aatos, who looked just as confused as Ryder. I cleared my throat, maybe a little too theatrically. "I have a confession to make." Ryder's face lit up. "And that would be?" "My name isn't really Fay Pollard. It's actually Sky Wessons. I was adopted." I blinked at the reaction I got. Which was none. All they did was sit there and stare at me with wide eyes, like I was some rabid animal. Well, considering I was a wolf I was a rabid dog, but that wasn't the point. I kept looking in between them. For a reaction, pretty much any words would do at this point. I waved my hands in the air like a crazy person. "Hello! Did you just hear me? I've never told anyone that before, not even my brother knows! And I just told an Alpha I met only a few hours ago. And a sexy ass vampire named Ryder, who happens to be my mate. So, pretty much any reaction would do at this point ladies."

Aatos cleared his throat, "Sexy ass vampire?" He was clearly struggling to keep his laughter under control. I narrowed my eyes at him, "Out of all that, that's what you heard? Just that small, minor detail?" I wanted to scream in frustration, but that would probably sound like a scream of pleasure, but what's the difference?
