Mia's POV

It's been three weeks since that incident I had with Luke and I must say,  I am officially crazy.

Turns out, I do like Luke. Maybe more than I expected. Everything about him makes my body go haywire. Even his breath brings goosebumps on my skin. I haven't admitted it to anyone except myself.

Luckily,  I've managed to successfully avoid him at school and at home. Unfortunately, today was the day I jinxed myself.

As I walked into Emma's room to get my computer, I saw him talking to his sister on her chair.

Our eyes met briefly but I averted my gaze to my computer that was on Emma's bed. I took it and before I left, Luke commented, "You have a great voice."

Oh, he must have listened to my covers.

"Thanks," I muttered as I shut the door.

"So, what's going on with you and Luke?" a familiar voice said, startling me.

"I do not know what you're talking about, " I said coolly as I placed my computer on my desk.

"I know you're a strange person but you've been acting weirder than usual," my sister said and I shot her a playful glare.

"Haha," I said, sarcasm evident in my voice.  "But there's nothing wrong between Luke and I."

"I was a teenager too you know."

"You make yourself sound as if you're old."

"Stop changing the subject Mia."

Dang it.

"Yeah, dang it."

Did I say that out loud?

"Yes, you did."

"Oh, fudge."

I stopped stalling and poured out my feelings to Jessie. She listened attentively,  not interrupting me at all.

"So, what do you think I should do? It is pretty obvious that Talia likes him and I don't want to risk our friendship."

"Nothing."

"What do you mean by nothing?"

"Do nothing. If you and Luke are meant to be, the universe would show you. "

"Okay."

I decided to invest my time in writing music, a passion I've had since I was younger.

I sat on one of the benches at Central Park while I thought of some lyrics to write. As I ran my hands through my golden curls, I closed my eyes and began to meditate.

I stayed like that for a while until I randomly started humming. Words were scattered in my head and I tried to arrange them in order. I picked up my black pen and scribbled in my notebook.

Everybody loves to tell me
I was born an old soul
Better keep my eyes wide open
There's so much that I don't know
Just another hotel room
Never felt so alone
I think about my granddad's eyes
And they always send me home
I can almost hear him now
I gotta make him proud

I smiled in satisfaction and said, "Now, it's time for a chorus."

I keep my eyes wide open
Bless this ground unbroken
I'm about to make my way
Heaven help me keep my faith
And my eyes wide open
