Today is Luke's birthday and after searching for a gift for weeks, I think I got the perfect gift. I hope that he'll like it.
We're spending the day at the arcade (excluding adults) and in the evening we'll have a little get together for him.
Currently, the girls and I were getting ready in Emma's room.
"I'm so excited for today. I got Luke the perfect gift," Talia said giddily.
The Ross sisters eyebrows rose in suspicion.
"Am I missing something?" Emna asked, her eyebrows still raised.
"Nothing really, it's just that Luke and I are getting along really well. It makes me think that something could happen between us soon."
My stomach growled in discomfort when I heard that statement. I hugged Emma's pillow to ease the pain.
"What do mean by that?" Zuri urged on.
"We've been texting nonstop and we had few of our moments, that's it," Talia said with a blush spread on her cheeks.
Why don't I believe this and why does it sound similar?
"She thinks that Luke likes her," Sage stated blankly.
"How come you say it so plainly?" Talia asked, obviously offended by her best friend's tone.
"Because he doesn't. He likes someone else," she replied.
"Oh really? Did he tell you that?" Talia retorted.
"No, but I can feel it. Something is stopping him from acting on his feelings."
Sage's eyes scanned the room lazily until her eyes met mine. It had a knowing twinkle and she abruptly broke eye contact.
"Whatever Sage, I am feeling something between him and me and I'm gonna act on it."
The tension was high in the room and I immediately felt uncomfortable. Talia and Sage didn't know that Luke and I had feelings for each other. I didn't want them to know because it's all in the past but hearing Talia talk about Luke infront of us and the Ross sisters knowing my past with Luke just made it awkward.
Breaking the tension, I said, "The boys will be ready soon and they'll get mad if we waste their time. Let's get ready."
Everyone nodded in agreement and started to get ready with no chit chat.
