The Next Day...
Mia's POV
I woke up and realized that I was resting on something or rather someone. I quietly peeked and noticed that my head was resting on Luke's chest. I guess we fell asleep on each other after a long night of bonding with one another. I decided to close my eyes once more to enjoy the moment while it lasted."Zuri, look at this!" Emma exclaimed, not knowing that I was listening.
"They look so cute together!" Zuri squealed.
"We have to keep this," Ravi said and I heard a camera snapping.
"We're SO going to hold on to this," Emma stated and their footsteps were approaching the door. The door opened and they quietly closed it. Luke's body flinched a bit and it was obvious that he was awake as well.
I suddenly felt the urge to ease myself and I tried to discreetly get myself out of Luke's grip. His arms clung to my body tighter and I couldn't help it but feel tingly inside.
"Luke, I know that you're awake. Could you please let go, I gotta pee," I pleaded.
"No, let's stay like this a little longer," he whined.
"It's an emergency, please."
"Fine," he said and loosened his grip on my waist. I skipped into Emma's bathroom and used it. When I returned, Luke was sitting on the bed, waiting for me.
"Let's clean up and have breakfast."
"Good. I'm starving."
•••
When Luke and I walked into the kitchen, all eyes were on us. They all had knowing smirks on their faces. I decided to wave them off and started to eat my pancakes.
"So Mia, how was the sleepover?" Jessie asked while sipping her cup of coffee. She's too much, I swear.
"It was good, still tired but good."
"What about you Luke?"
"Same," he shrugged and continued eating his food. It actually surprised me how he didn't try to make a big deal about it.
"What are we doing today?" Ravi asked.
"Well, I'm going to the park to play ball," Luke replied.
"I might follow him," Zuri said.
"I'm going to meet up with some friends," Emma said.
"I'm going to sleep and watch TV," I shrugged.
"Mia, you need air so you're going to the park with is," Jessie said and I groaned.
"Ugh, fine."
•••
The moment I saw Shane in the park, I started to feel guilty. For some reason, I feel like I'm playing both him and Luke even though I'm not doing anything.
I waved at him and he winked in response. I sat on the bench nearby to look at the boys playing. Jessie took a seat beside me.
"Who could have known that you'll find yourself in boy drama," Jessie chuckled.
"Not funny Lil Red."
" But seriously, you need to get your feelings in check before anything happens," Jessie said as if I already didn't know that.
"Ugh.... Why does this have to be so hard?"
"Look, just find time to think and you'll know what to do. I have a feeling that confessions are going to happen soon so I hope that you'll be ready for it."
"Mhmm, I hope so to," I mumbled, turning my attention back to the game.
•••
The boys decided to call it a day and sat on the benches. Shane of course, sat beside me.
"So how's New York so far?" he questioned.
"It's cool, I love being here. I can't wait to start school though."
" Summer is almost over so you'll eventually have to see new faces."
"Please don't remind me," I said and he laughed.
"Chill, it's not that bad," he said, still laughing.
"It is when you're a dork."
"But you're a cute dork though."
"Thanks, like that is gonna make me feel better."
"Don't worry, you have the Ross clan and me to guide you. You won't be completely stranded."
"That's true."
Shane shifted on the bench and looked at me straight into my eyes.
"Could you meet me in the park at 7?"
"I have to ask first but I'll see what I can do."
"Okay, I hope you'll come."
•••
I told Jessie what Shane said to me earlier and she allowed me to go since the park is right around the corner. I also role Emma and Zuri because they're my girls. Obviously they made a big deal about it. It's just a simple hangout. What's actually going to happen?
When it was 6PM, I started to get ready. I wore something simple. A white T-shirt, a pair of blue jeans, and sneakers. My hair was down and I had minimum jewelry on.
I informed everyone about my departure and walked towards Central Park.
•••
Shane sat on the same bench from earlier. He was fiddling with his hands so I knew he was nervous. I slowly sat beside him and said nothing. After a few minutes, he acknowledged my presence.
"How long have you been here?" he asked, surprised that I'm already here.
"Not too long. Probably about 5 minutes."
"Okay," he said and took a deep breath. He looked at me intensely and I felt the urge to look away. I have a feeling that what he's going to say is important so I will try and give him the respect.
"Mia, we have been talking for a while and I might have tried to hint my feelings to you. I don't know if you noticed it but I really like you and as I spend more time with you, it becomes more difficult to control."
I couldn't find my voice so I continued to look at him.
"I know this will catch you off guard but Mia, would you be my girlfriend?"
"Ummm........"
