"Ummm..."

Luke's POV
I was currently in Ravi's room, tossing a tennis ball in the air. Ravi entered in his room and gave Mrs. K her dinner before closing her cage to sit next to me.

"I saw how you guys were cuddled up earlier today," he said with a visible smirk on his face.

"I know. I heard."

"Wait, so does that mean that you told her last  night?" he asked and my face dropped.

I mentally face palmed myself before glancing at my brother, who was anticipating my answer.

"No, I didn't," I mumbled

"Oh my God, this is bad," he mumbled before saying, "Why not?"

"We were having such a good time together and I was afraid to mess it up by telling her that I like her."

Emma and Zuri came in shortly after and when their eyes met with mine and Ravi's. Ravi glanced at me before glancing on his phone and looking right back at our sisters. They looked at me and shook their heads. I knew that they know something I didn't and it's not fun being out of the loop.

"He didn't tell her," Ravi said after another few minutes of silence.

"Wow, it's too late," Emma said to Ravi and Zuri before they surrounded me.

"Okay, stop the mind games and tell me what's going on," I said, getting annoyed by their strange behavior.

"Shane is planning to ask Mia out tonight at the park," Zuri blurted out.

"WHAAAATTT!!!!"

Mia's POV

I looked at Shane for a while and didn't know what to say. I thought about Luke and felt bad. I can't like them both, that's not how it works.

"You don't have to answer immediately cause I know you still have to process it. Take your time," Shane said and smiled at me.

"Thank you for understanding," I replied and sat on the swing.

He joined me shortly after and sat on the swing next to me, gazing at the stars.

I pushed myself gently and allowed the cool evening breeze to penetrate in my body. My hair was all over the place but I didn't care. I felt calm and content with myself. It was like I was walking on the clouds. The moonlight fell directly on Shane's face which made his eyes to twinkle. A playful smile appeared on his lips when it looked like he was reminiscing about something.

"I remember when I was a kid and every night, my grandpa would carry me out to play under the stars," he said, still smiling.

"He is a really cool grandpa."

"Yeah, he was. He died about two years ago."

"I'm sorry to hear that."

"No, it's okay. I've gotten over it."

"You guys were really close, huh?"

"Yeah. I used to live with him while growing up so he was a father figure to me."

"What a connection. Rare but very beautiful to experience."

"What about you? Did you ever experience it with someone special?"

"My mom. She died about five years ago. She was my best friend," I said, feeling myself tear up. I guess I'll never get over it.

Shane went towards me and hugged me tightly, whispering soothing things I needed to hear at that moment.

Luke's POV

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"Huh?" Jessie said with a confused look on her face.

"About Mia going to meet Shane."

"Oh! I honestly forgot about that. I know that you didn't tell her so it's even more complicated than it is," she stated, rubbing her forehead.

"Ugh!!!!"

I paced around the living room, thinking about what I'm going to do. An idea popped in my head. It's probably crazy but the bottled up feelings are driving me crazy.

I opened the elevator and Jessie eyes went wide.

"What are you doing? I hope that what I'm thinking is not going to happen."

"That's exactly what's going to happen. I'm telling Mia my true feelings."

I made my way to the park and started to look for Mia. While I was looking, I took the time to think about what I'm going to tell her.

I finally saw her and she was on the swing with Shane hugging her. She looked sad. I immediately felt my blood boil. I wanted to be that person to her. I wanted to go back but I had to know if she's actually together with Shane.

"Hey," I said and their heads shot up. Mia's cheeks reddened at the sight of me. I smirked, happy that I still have that effect on her. The awkward tension could be felt cause my friend and I like the same girl and the girl is clearly confused about her feelings.

I had to tell her right now, even if Shane is around.

"Look Mia, I have to say this because it's slowly eating me inside. I like you, like really like you. I always have. There was something I saw in you from the first day we met. You were cool, calm, and collected but I knew that there was an ache in your heart. I wanted to know you, get your attention, even if it meant getting it by doing stupid things. I wanted to be your friend but lately I've been craving for something more. I knew that I really liked and wanted you from yesterday when we talked on the terrace. I felt something, I don't know if you felt it too. At least I got everything out now, I'm at peace with myself."

Mia's eyes were so wide at the end of the speech and Shane stood awkwardly next to Mia, not knowing what to do. I looked at them and started to walk away. I might have ruined their moment but I don't care. I said what I had to say.
