chp 30 "At last"

"what happen Niki? Are you alright? Why did you scream?" Tina's voice boomed through the door.

"Yeah bhabhi, I am fine. It -it was just a....a... cockroach? Yeah! Cockroach." I replied.

"I think we need a pest control. I will inform Nik, don't worry." Tina said and then I heard the retracting steps.

I released the breath I was holding. That was -

"Really a cockroach? Do I look like one?" The man with blue eye, that thought to give me an heart attack by coming through my window asked me like I have just hurt his feeling. Like seriously?

"Well, I was actually going to say a lizard, but I think you should be happy with cockroach?" I replied

"Come on!"

" What are you doing here, at this time of night?" I asked standing in front of him.

"I wanted to ask..." He scratched back if his neck and then said " are you angry with me? I mean, I asked you out on.. text...I know, I shouldn't have, who ask someone like that, I know I should have properly prepared ...." He started rambling and he looked so cute  at time that I totally zoned out and watched the scene playing before me with a mute button.

His lips were moving in fast motion, not to miss his hands that would now and then move to explain a point or other, and his eyes that once in a while would catch mine to see my expression.

"Hey?" Ronit poked my shoulder " are you listening? "

"Yeah, I was-"

"really? It seems like you were in another world."

"Na, so what were you saying?"

"ah! yes, You are too difficult to understand. I was talking about the text actually I was-"

"Yes"

"So stupid to -"

"Ronit".

"Text it. actually-"

"RONIT!!!"

"Yeah," he said slightly out of breath

"I said yes. I will go on date with you."

His eyes were now the size of saussar and his jaw dropped down. I smiled at him. He looked so adorable now.

"Did you just said.. yes?"

"I guess, I have?"

And in next very movement I was in his arms and his head in my hair. I could feel his breath in my neck and I was totally confused what to do. My hands were hanging loose by my side. My body totally stiff.

My heart started beating like it has to win some marathon. And it will be an shame if it loose. My mind was like have lost all his neurons signal that passes the message to my body to do it's function. All I could do was, just to be still and live the movement I was in.

I think Ronit got to know that I was not responding and he started to pull back. That was the exact movement when all the junction in my Nerves started working and my hand made its way to engulf him in a hug.

A tight hug to assure the moment were real. To remain there for enternity, Cherishing the time I was in. But the fear came back, last time  when I had a movement like this, I lost someone precious to me.

"Angel, I know what are you thinking." Roint said without pulling back.

"Hmm?"

"I will never leave you, I promise."

"I know, and if you will, I will haunt you down till I get you and again kill you with my hand for leaving me."

"Well, I should be scared. But How could I leave a beautiful girl like you." He said and kissed at side of my forehead

"But" he said and pulled away taking my both hands of mine in his. "I want to do something, if you allow?"

"What it is now?" I asked confused.

"I am scared that you wouldn't like it, and probably would think it's quite...ok Let's go" he again started rambling.

"Where?"

He opened the door and lead us downstairs while I was wondering what was he doing? When we were at the last step I tugged his arm to get his attention and ask what was he going to do??

But he ignored me and made his way towards the living room.

Nik and Tina were sitting on sofa watching t.v , cuddling each other.

"Nik," Ronit's voice broke them from there concentration of TV and they looked us with concern.

" Ronit, what are you doing here, I didn't heard the door bell." Nik asked getting up with Tina.

"Yeah, actually it's long story. But I want to say something to Angel,and  I need both of you to witness it."

He is scaring me now.

He turned around and looked at me. His blue eyes watching me, Like he was seeing me for the first time.

"Angel,  you remember this place, it's  is the same place I saw you for the first time" Oh..Kay, I know that "and you remember when you fell in my arms while running and I just caught you at right time before you could fall.   When I saw you for the first time you purely resembled an Angel. And you know what was the First thought that crossed my mind?" He asked and I just shook my head side by side, "well... It was that you were and are the most beautiful girl I have ever met and I wanted to kiss you right then and  there, claiming you mine." I gasped and my hand were now on my mouth.

But without a doubt my cheek were pink/red/Violet I don't care whatever color it was. But what was this leading to?

My hands are little trembling.

"Yeah, you must be thinking why I am telling you this right, and that too in middle of night?" I again nodded positively.

And in response I just saw him bending on his knee and he extended his hand continuing his speech.

Is it seriously happening what I think is happening.

"Niki," he said my name, that rolled out of his mouth like a honey. "my Angel, I really, really like you. No, not like , I really love you and I want to live rest of my life with you. Like what they say, I want to grow old with you, and held you till my last breath. I want to hold you near, laugh and cry with you.  Will make me that one person in your life that everyone could refer as your husband. Will you marry me?"

That was it. He actually proposed me. I was screaming from inside.

"Angel?"

"But where is the ring?" This was Tina. Only she could ask such questions!

"How could you expect her to say yes when there is no ring. This can't be done. Go and buy ring " well this time it was Nik, seriously? I was expecting an possessive bro.

I just saw his face and my hand that was in his hand and then there was a ring in my hand.

"Where did the ring came?" They said in unison.

Roint only chuckled in response.
"It's for me to know, and you to find out"

"Angel? You know it's hard to be on a knee. It pains."

Instead of answering question I pulled him up and made his wish come true that had crossed his mind.
