Lili's POV

I'm home with Cole. We have a day off and we're watching my favorite movie: Moulin Rouge.

My phone starts ringing:

Mom❤️

"I should take this" I say to Cole. I give him a kiss on his cheek and I walk out of the room.

"Hi mom! What's up?" I ask walking into our bedroom.

"Lili, you might want to sit down" she says. I hear her crying.

"Mom?"

"Lili, grandma past away last night." She says almost sobbing as I hear.

"What?" I say. I feel my tears coming.

"I'm sorry, Lili"

"I.. I have to go" I say and hang up the phone.

I start to cry so hard. How? How can she be dead? I haven't seen her in such a long time and now she's gone. I just want to she her! I can't take it.

Cole's POV

Lili hasn't come back and it's been 10 minutes. I don't know who called her but I'm just gonna check in on her.

I walk out of the room. I hear Lili crying upstairs. I run to our bedroom.

I open the door and there I see the love of my life. Crying. So hard. It breaks my heart.

"Lili?"

She looks at me crying. I sit down next to her on the bed. I hug her. She hugs me back. She starts to sob. I feel so bad. Whenever she is sad I'm sad as well. We hug for what feels like forever. I love this girl so much. I don't want her to be sad.

"Lili? Love, what happened?" I ask pulling away.

"My... my... nana... she.. she" she says sobbing. I already get it.

"I'm so sorry." I say starting to cry to.

"Try to calm down... okay? Follow my breaths" I say breathing slow.

She slowly calms down.

"Lils, do you want to tell me what happened with your nana?"

"I don't know" she says still crying softly.

"What do you mean?"

"My mom, she told me and I just hang up."

"Maybe you should call her back" I say

"Can you call?" She asks me probably because she is still crying.

"Yeah of course."

She hands me the phone. I take it. Before I dial the number I look at Lili.

"I love you" I say to her and I give her a passionate kiss. I hope I can help her. I hope it makes her feel safe.

I go on her phone. I dial her mom. And walk out of the room.

"Hi, Amy. It's Cole. I'm so sorry for your loss" I say holding back tears.

"Thank you, Cole" she says. I can hear she is still crying. Of course she is. It must be hard loding your mother. Losing someone you love.

"Lili, is having a hard time. Can you tell me what happened with her Nana?"

"She died peacefully. We all knew it was coming sooner or later. I just hoped Lili still got to see her." She says crying.

"I'm so sorry. Thank you. As soon as Lili feels better I will let her call you."

"Thank you for everything Cole! Thanks for taking care of Lili. You're a great man! Thank you!" She says crying.

"Thank you for that!" I say crying as well. "I'm gonna go talk to Lili. Bye!"

"Bye Cole!" She says.

I walk back to Lili.

"She died peacefully." I say to her sitting down next to her on our bed.

We cried a lot that night. Lili called her mom. I tried to comfort her as much as I could. I love this woman so much. I just wanted for her to have seen her Nana for one more time. But unfortunately I can't change that...
