(STEVE'S P.O.V.)

I pulled Lilly out and away from the open train car door holding her tight. "Don't look!" I was trying to save her the pain of watching him fall more. I tried to hide the pain in my voice but my guilt overtook me. "It should have been me, that guard was aiming for me!"

She sobbed against me and I tightened my grip gently, "......" I couldn't say anything to her anymore in fear that my voice would show what I felt. She needed to see me strong so she could be as well.

It was several days later and everyone was off. However, we all knew we had to shake this off. I wasn't going to let Bucky death be in vain. I sat in a room, knee bouncing as I chewed on my pencil anxiously. I was close to coming up with a plan to implement and defeat Johann Schmidt with. We would need to first get to the base he was in currently and find a way through the guards and such. However, I knew with Lilly and the other by my side we would definitely have a chance. The new kid, James John Turner was a promising recruit for The Howling Commandos. I looked over my plan which was scribbled in a notebook and sighed. 'This plan really isn't going to cut it.' I thought to myself, 'I need to come up with something that is a lot more stable...' I racked my brain for ideas and finally put down my pencil rubbing my head in discomfort. I couldn't think any longer.

Dugan walked in, his bowler hat skewed a bit on his head and he sighed which ruffled his mustache as he walked over. He laid a hand on my shoulder, "Pull yourself together man. We have a lot to do." He smiled trying to be encouraging and I gave him a weak smile.

"Thank you...." I sighed as the others began crowding in.

Lilly walked over and sat besides me taking my hand and smiled gently but it wasn't a happy one. She hadn't smiled a happy smile since Bucky fell off the train. They had been good friends. We had, all three of us, actually had been best friends. We had been through a lot together and it seemed losing him had shaken Lilly to her core. "Have you gotten a plan together Steve?" She asked quietly. There was an emotionless undertone to her voice and I sighed bringing her into a hug.

"A not very good one." I admitted to her.

She pulled away without hugging back which was unusual and she took the notebook in her hands which were shaking a bit. Her eyes moved over each of my scrawled words and then she shut the notebook and set it on the table delicately, "It's all we got and it's better than nothing."

I nodded worried about her, "I guess your right. Are you ready?" I asked everyone and they nodded.
