I began to stur my eyes flutter open and I found Steve by my side. He was sitting in a chair reading a book. "Oh, you're awake!" He said closing his book. "It's good to see you back with us, but how do you feel?"
My hand went to my lips brushing them gently in a sleepy daze, "....." Then my hand fell to my side as I shivered from the fever.
Steve frowned taking my hand knowing I wasn't well. "Please, just rest for now..." He sounded concerned as he called a doctor into the tent.
"...No..." I managed to shoo the doctor out, who reluctantly went and tears streamed down my face again, "...Stev...Steve I'm.... so sorry..."
He sighed shaking his head. "I can only half believe it, but someone like you has to have a reason, right?" He asked with innocent pleading eyes.
I closed my eyes and a sob escaped my lips. I turned over so my back was facing him. I curled up more as I silently sob.
James walked in and sighed, "She's awake... What happened? Steve..."
"She feels guilty. It's not her fault!" Steve said trying to defend me as he stood up. "You didn't tell anyone, did you?"
James shook his head, "Of course not! I promised after all but..." He held up the tan envelope, "Somehow these... I read them... These orders... Got onto her pillow meaning we have a spy and-"
"If we have a spy then we have to flush them out, and then pin everything on them," Steve said interrupting him. It wasn't like him to be rash and interrupt like that.
I turned back over, tear-filled eyes wide and I got up lunging at the envelope and grabbing it. With shaking hands, I sat down and pulled out the paper. "...." I chocked in shock at the words, "...N...No..." I breathed in fear.
Steve tore the paper away. "A trigger..." He assumed as he moved the paper over, turning it over a lit candle nearby. "Bucky restrain her," Steve commanded in a solemn tone.
I was trembling. The word on the paper, the word Ragnarok, played across my vision. It's black color bold and its font had a rune-like air about it. "....Ragnarok... Subject 003...." I murmur, a dazed unfocused look on my face.
"Ragnarok?" Steve asked confused.
Bucky shrugged as he held the girl down. "She must be an experiment..." He commented under his breath.
My metal hand balled into a fist and it went into the gut of James. I shoved him off me growling like a wolf. I trembled to feel sick, "You have a message from HYDRA." My German accent had thickened.
Steve picked up his shield panicking as he smacked me over the head with it trying to knock me out when he took a defensive stance hiding behind it. "Lilly stop it!" He pleaded.
I managed to dodge the blow and stared at Steve with a blank expression, "They say... Wattcom will never be on your side. Do you want to save her? You can't." And with that, I slipped out disappearing into the forest.
-TIME SKIP: Three Weeks Later-
(STEVE'S P.O.V.)
I was a nervous wreck after Lilly had left and all I thought about was getting her back. Finding her. I had to. I ran my hands through my blonde hair for the literal millionth time. I whimpered a bit as I began to pace again waiting for any information.
"Hey, Steve!" James called coming in dropping a rucksack down onto the ground. "I found a few interesting rumors you may want to hear about." He said noticing my worried expression. "Calm down, we will get her back..."
