Piper's POV
I swept my hair out of my face for the hundredth time.

It was currently cold and windy, but the coach didn't seem to care that we were all freezing to death.

Coach Hedge usually wouldn't make us run in the cold, even if he's all 'tough' or whatever, but our sub coach, Khione, wouldn't even glance our way if some random old hippie came and tried to kill us.

And for some reason, she hated me with a burning passion.

Yet, she would always smile at all the guys, and would just sneer at the girls.

But at me, she glared and just looking at her hurt my precious eyes.

It was nearly freezing outside, and all we could wear is shorts and a shirt.

I glanced at Annabeth to see her teeth chattering and frantically rubbing her arms for warmth.

Khione forced us to run a mile outside, and not saying that I wasn't able to do it, I was just physically and mentally tired to even get out of bed this morning.

I glanced back at Kelly and her minions and they were complaining, even though Khione allowed them to sit out and not run.

I started to jog, knowing I only had a few meters left, and ahead I saw that Jason, Percy, and Leo has already finished.

Annabeth came next to me, her lips showing the faint color of blue.

"I-I h-hate K-Khione."

All I could do was shakily nod as we passed the 'finish line'.

Khione, who was in a dress, seemed unfazed that it was a few degrees above freezing.

She gave us a cold expression. "You can go and wait until everyone else is done."

Annabeth and I quickly walked towards the bleachers.

I looked down and started to feel the tip of my fingers turning numb.

We started walking towards the guys, and I noticed Jason and Percy shivering almost as much as we were.

Leo seemed nearly as unfazed as Khione was.

"H-hey."

Jason and Percy acknowledged us curtly before returning to their freezing state.

"Hola señoritas." Leo stood up and grinned while doing a little bow. "Pleased to meet your acquaintance."

From where Leo had just stood up, he left his army jacket, up for grabs to anyone.

I eyed it and looked up to see Annabeth, Jason, and Percy doing the same.

All our eyes met and we all looked at the jacket.

Leo laughed nervously.

"Uh, guys? You know that jacket is just a jacket right?" Leo looked apologetic to the jacket. "Yea, and I love you guys and all but I rather you freeze to death than fight over my jacket."

Jason pouted. "What's so special about that jacket that even your bestest friends can't wear it?"

Leo spluttered. "I-uh, I just don't want you fighting over it?"

"Mhm s-sure Leo. Y-your lucky I c-can't get up and k-kill you right now."

Leo quickly backed away from Annabeth and dusted his pants.

"Well, I'm going to the gard-uh, I mean that side of the school where, uh, I'm just gonna go."

He grabbed his jacket and bolted to wherever he's going, ignoring Khione yelling at him to stay and suffer her wrath.

"You know what? You all can run an extra lap thanks to Leo over there. Then you can go inside."

Everyone groaned but slowly started to start the extra lap.

I looked ahead and saw Percy and Annabeth keeping each other company as they ran.

I shivered and started to jog a little faster.

"Piper!"

I turned around and resisted the urge to gag.

"H-hey Dylan. What do you want."

He smirked. "No need to get feisty. Just wanted to allow you to have pleasure of running besides me."

I scoffed. "As if. I rather be drown in a well full of food than be with you."

He pouted. "Oh come on. You know you love me."

I gave him a fake smile. "Yea sure, and my last name is Grace."

His mouth gaped and I realized what I said.

I ran faster, leaving him behind, and cursed myself silently.

Of all the names I could have said, I said Grace.

"Darn it."

I looked besides me and noticed Jason stumbling to finish, freezing his booty off.

"Jason you okay there?"

He turned to face me and nodded weakly.

"Y-yup. Doing just fine."

I couldn't help but smile, which Jason feebly returned.

I furrowed my brows. "Are you sure your okay?"

"J-just a little cold. T-that's all."

We made it back to the start of the track, and Khione looked at us.

She glanced down at our hands and her eyes hardened.

I looked down to see what she was looking at and I noticed that my hand had slipped into Jason's.

I couldn't help but smile and turned to Khione and winked.

Then we walked back into the school.
