Between Umar and Ummu, you couldn't tell whose Minal's departure affected the most. Just like Ummu, Umar spent several days in the hospital before he was finally discharged. Two days after being discharged, he left Lagos for Kano because he couldn't bear staying in Lagos where had been his favorite city. But with every second he now spends, he's tempted to drive all the way from Ikeja to Festac to visit Minal.

He became so detached from everyone and attached to only his prayer mat, Quran, his bed and pillow and lastly Minal's diary. He was glad she gave him her diary. Whenever he's reading it,he feels her presence and he couldn't help crying or laughing at its contents.

    Dear diary,
After million times of unsuccessful attempts my crush finally said hello. Tell me. Is that a green sign or....? 😫

He read and imagined her face after her crush said the "Hello". She roll her eyes and look away trying to hide her red cheeks. He thought. Every detail about her father's death, her first car, the number of guys she rejected and lot more were included. No wonder it looked bigger than a dictionary.
He was stunned when he saw his name boldly written on a new page. It was beautifully designed with hearts drawn all over the page. It was just so colorful and it melted his heart. After spending hours on the page, he flipped to the next page and it's content, brought back tears to his eyes.

    Dear Diary,
I know you've missed me so much but hey! The feeling is mutual. Things happened diary but I won't really go into details. I was treated like a house girl or probably worse. It got to a point I thought I've never been happy in my entire life. But no regrets, because I found my true love there. He's Umar. Umar is a brashly arrogant softhearted egoist. He walks like he owns the world and is ready to face anything at anytime. Lol. But hey! He's so cute. Not only cute. He's handsome, sexy, breath taking. And when I say handsome, I mean  Dangerously Handsome. I fell in love with his good heart before falling for his appearance. He was the first person to make me feel comfortable and love and I'm sure he has a hand in informing daddy about the way I was treated before things changed. Oops! That reminds me. He's a liar.

He couldn't read further. Him a liar? He thought afraid to look into the book. Has he ever lied to her before? Oh Allah! After several minutes of contemplating whether he should read further or not. He decided to read at his own risk.

He let out a relief sigh muttering Alhamdulillah. It wasn't really something to be scared of but did she actually see him. How on earth dies she know he was the one who brought everything including the under wears and not a random lady as he lied. This girl is something else. He continued to read till it was Maghrib time.
He came home after Maghrib and to his surprise, Ummu was in the living room with his mum. He couldn't help but notice how lean and broken she looked. "After exchanging pleasantries, he went back to his room reluctantly. He wanted to stay but Ummu's presence might break him down again.

"Allah has his way of doing things Umar. This could probably be a sign for you ora lesson for you to learn. It could be your destiny and which ever way destiny comes, embrace it. For how long are you going to keep doing this Umar. Minal needs none of this and remember the promise you made to her. Get up and be a better person and she'll be proud of you. Make Duas for her and do so many other things in her name like giving Sadaqah, helping the poor, building mosques and lot more. Please Baby. "
He hugged his mother tightly and cried to his fill without her interrupting.
"Thank you Ummu. Thank you for making me realize before its too late. My tears are nothing to Minal. I'll change In SHA ALLAH."
She hugged him back rubbing his back. "I miss her mummy." he said softly.
"I know baby. I also miss her."

Since then, Umar went a little bit back to normal. He only relates well with his best friend Al-Amin, his mother and Ummu. He went back to Lagos and continued from where he stopped. He adopted a girl the day his buildings were completed which was a year after Minal's death. He named the five year old Amina Umar Faruk and called her Minal as she requested. He couldn't think of getting married talk less of having a child. With Maman Sadiya asked Minal's nanny, he felt everything was going to be alright.

Exactly a year and few months after Minal's death, Amma got married to Yasir and Nana suprisingly to Nasir. Umar attended both wedding and people just couldn't stop asking him when is his. Al-Amin and Nabilah also had a baby girl and they named her after Minal. Does he have a reason to stop loving his best friend?

"You should start respecting me Man. I'm now a father. " Al-Amin said over the phone. "And so I am" he replied. Al-Amin let out a sigh.
"I have no time left Al-Amin. Haven't you and Nabilah thought of a suitable Title?" he asked. "Just a minute. Nabs! Nabs! " Al-Amin called his wife who was busy with the crying 5month old Minal.
"Umar is asking for  the title." he said. "Hi Umar"  she used her shoulder to support the phone as she cradled her baby.
"How's my Minal?" he asked after exchanging pleasantries. "She's  doing great Alhamdulillah. She just needs to learn how to keep her mouth shut and not disturb people with her cries. " she replied hitting her husband's hand that was playing with a strand of her hair.
"So about the title, I'm sorry I haven't really given it a thought but we can decide now."
"How about you use her name? Amina Sagir Alkali " Al-Amin suggested. Nabilah shook her head.
"Remember I changed the names excluding hers. I made it look more like a fiction. " Umar explained.

" How about Destiny?" Al-Amin asked hopefully. His wife hit him with a pillow and his best friend rolled his eyes. He wish they were together so he would punch him really hard. "Don't say anything again please Al-Amin. I beg of you. "
"Fine. I'll keep shut."

He's sat still and watched his wife as she cracked her brain trying to come up with a name. "Hey I have something to say." he said jumping up. Umar hissed and his wife rolled her eyes. "Just shut up Al-Amin and don't say s word" Umar said regretting why he didn't travel down to Kaduna and think of a name. Someone's face would have been swollen by now.

"Oh please! Just this once. I promise. " Nabilah looked and saw how serious her Playful husband looked. "Let's hear what he has to say Umar." she suggested. "OK then" Umar said and rubbed his beard waiting for the rubbish his best friend has to say.
"How about GORGEOUS MUSLIMAH?!" he asked excitedly. Nabilah stared at her husband open mouthed while Umar fixed his eyes on the phone. "Come again Al-Amin"

"Gorgeous Muslimah. No! Wait!! HIS GORGEOUS MUSLIMAH" he said loudly. Tears were already formed in Umar's eyes and Nabilah pulled her husband into a fierce hug waking the sleeping baby in her arms.
"HIS GORGEOUS MUSLIMAH" Umar said softly. "How did you come up with this Al-Amin?" he asked.
"Remember you always say she's gorgeous and even before you met her, you use GORGEOUS to define the type of wife you want. I'm a genius I know" he said and winked at his wife. "Thank you guys. You are the best. Kisses to Minal. Let me contact my editor right away. "We love you too. Hugs to Minal" Al-Amin said before ending the call.
