Chapter 21: A Competition? It's On!

                          Final examination is fast approaching, so far so good my grades are in good condition. We are now at our humanities class. The professors in our other subjects already gave us reviewers for the final exams; I hope Prof. Hernandez gives us a reviewer. "Good afternoon class today I'm going to discuss you're final exam in this subject and this will not be just an ordinary exam" Prof. Hernandez said, one of our classmate asked what kind of exam do we have to take. "Your final exam will be a group performance so in this class we have two groups, since the topic we tackled this finals are music and dance, your performance will be like in ASAP and Sunday All Star show. There will be judges, they will be the one who's going to grade you base on your performance and there will be other classes who's going to watch. It will be scheduled after the examination week so that will be on a Saturday"
                          The class became noisy because this is the first time that we're going to have an exam like this. Some of our classmates are excited some of us are not. Prof. Hernandez let us discuss our performance by group. Minutes have already passed, and then we saw Elissa raising her hand to call the attention of the professor.

                          "Yes miss Portaleza?" Prof. Hernandez asks
                          "Ma'am our group talked about this performance exam, do you think its kindda boring?" Elissa said
                          "What do you mean miss Portaleza?"
                          "Ma'am why bother splitting the class into two if it’s just going to be a one huge performance?"
                          "So what is your group's suggestion?"
                          "Since the class is already divided into two why not make it a competition? The loser will be taking the written exam while the winners are exempted from it. If that's okay with the other group ma'am"
                          "Why do we need to do that?" Ella protested
                          "To make it more interesting.  A healthy competition can give the judges and audience a good show" Ricca said backing up Elissa.
                          "We don't need a competition, we can give them a show without it" I interrupted
                          "Why? Scared of taking the written exam Liana dear?" Elissa asked. She is provoking us, she's so predictable. If we accept the offer now the odds will not be in our favor. Almost all of the members of the other group can sing, dance and some of them can play an instrument really good plus they also have Jayden with them. The audience impact will surely be at their side. So how can we win? I'm not scared in taking the written exam but if we lose, the effort we're gonna exert in the performance will be wasted. So we better not accept the offer.
                          "Of course we're not" Relina said 
                          "We're not backing out" Edward said
                          "We're not scared... Actually I'm excited" Chantal said with confidence. I don't know what’s going on inside their mind. Knowing Chantal she doesn't back out in a challenge and she hates losing but they fell from Elissa's trap
                          "So your group is accepting the challenge of the other group miss Gonzales?" Prof. Hernandez asks Chantal. But before she answered, she looked at us like she's asking permission through eye contact and everyone in our group nods.
                          "Absolutely ma'am, this is going to be fun" Chantal said displays her devilish smile "A Competition? It's on" she added and tucked her hair.
                          "So be it, it’s gonna be a competition the winner will be exempted from the final exam and it is considered as a perfect score, but the group who's going to lose is going to take the written examination. Again the schedule will be a day after the examination week. Good luck everyone. We will not be meeting each other until the day of the competition so all of you can practice your group performance. See you all next Saturday." Prof. Hernandez said
                          After class our group decided to have a meeting on what we will do next Saturday. Everyone seems calm, I think that’s a good thing no pressure. I know that me and Elissa have issues but I didn't know that she's going to drag others, for example this competition. It’s very selfish of her. "Guys we don't need to fear the other group just because they have Jayden Williams at their side, let’s just do our best!" Chantal said, inspiring the group. "Yeah she's right instead they should fear us they don't know what will hit them" I added. Where did that come from? I guess I also need to motivate myself. "So guys tomorrow after class we're going to meet at the Golden Step Studio for the assigning of performance, See all you tomorrow" Chantal said. Of course Chantal is the leader she has experience on this kind of things so she is the perfect choice, everyone also think so and agreed.
                          The meeting is already over. I was going to the comfort room, my phone vibrated; it’s a message from Jayden he said that he's waiting in the parking lot but I really need to pee so bad. At the parking lot, I can see Jayden from here but who is that other girl? I moved a little closer, I recognized her she's  a classmate of Jayden in one of his major class the one whom I copied the notes from. I can't hear what they're talking about. They sure look they are having fun. The girl is about to leave but before she does she went back to Jayden and gave him a kiss on the cheek. That GIRL! Why is she kissing Jayden! I ran so I could get away from the parking lot. My tears are falling. Liana get a hold of yourself! It’s just a kiss on the cheek and you have no right to get jealous you're just Jayden's friend. I texted Jayden that I have something to take care off with Chantal.
