Edd POV

Time: 8: 15 am

"Tom!" I pleaded, his scowl never leaving his face. "What?! He started it!" He shouted back at me. Matt was in the corner holding his mirror close to his face, sobbing quietly. Reason? Tom and Tord got into another damn fight. This time it was over Tom's alcohol addiction. "Well it's not my fault you're a drunk! All you do is mope around and go bars every night!" Tord shouted at the angering Tom. "It's not my fault I like alcohol!" They went back and forth, repeatedly.

My hands balled into fists, "THAT'S IT!" I screamed, stopping everyone from making a noise. "I'm going out, and when I come back, you two better have made up. That does NOT mean you can just go hide in your room or go to the bar. Am. I. Clear?" I stared them down, seeing them nod shakily. "Good. I will see you all later. And, apologize to Matt!" I demanded, walking out the front door. On my way out, I grabbed my wallet and phone which I conveniently placed by the front door.

I slammed the door and took a deep breath, the cool morning air and early snowflakes filling my lungs with an icy blast. "It's alright... You just... you just need to cool down..." I shook my head, walking along the sidewalk that was going to take me to who knows where.

My walking took me to a small coffee shop. Christmas lights surrounding the outside causing a large colorful scheme. Upon entering, the calm atmosphere and smell of chocolate welcomed me. I stepped up to the counter, greeted by the many drinks and foods they severed. "Hello sir! May I take your order?" I looked at the guy behind the counter, long and tidy (h/c) hair pulled into a messy bun which miserably held his bangs in place, letting them bounce around. (E/c) eyes hidden behind a pair of navy blue glasses resting on (s/c) skin.

"U-Um... Hi..." I looked at his name tag, /(Y/n)?/ I mentally questioned. "Sir?" I snapped out of my trance. "I-I'm s-s-sorry..." I fiddled with the rim of my hoodie. I could feel the embarrassment rushing to my face in shades of red. The man chuckled, "It's alright, guess it's one of those days." He grabbed a notebook. "Ready when you are." I nodded, looking at the board. I tried looking at something on the board but his tallness got in the way. "E-Excuse me... C-Could you please move?" His eyes widened "I'm sorry!" He stepped aside, allowing me to get a look.

After settling on a caramel hot chocolate, I lifted a finger. "U-Um... Excuse me?" The guy turned around from what he was doing. "Ready to order?" I nodded. "Can I get a Caramel hot chocolate and a ginger swirl muffin?" He nodded, writing everything down on a piece of paper. "And your total will be 7.23$" I handed him 10$ getting change back. "Your drink will be out soon. But before I do, can I get a name for this order?" "Edd." He grabbed a marker. "E-d-d?" He asked. "Yeah." He grinned, looking at his work. "Your order will be finished soon. Until then, how about you take a seat?" I nodded, walking to an empty booth.

My drink was done a while ago but I thought I'd stay around a little while longer. It was nice here.

"Mind if I sit?" I looked up to the voice. "Hmm? No, no. Go right ahead!" I ushered. "Nice to see you again Edd. I'm (Y/n) if you didn't see the name tag." He sat down, resting his head on the palm of his hand.

We sat there for a short time, enjoying the soft Christmas music in the background. "What brings you here, Edd?" I thought about his question. "Um... I guess it was to get away from problems." I said, keeping it simple. "Roommates?" he said aloud. "Yeah... how did... how did you know?" he stared at me wide eyed. "Was that actually correct?" I slowly nodded. "Wow. Sorry if I scared you, it's just someone came in yesterday saying they were having problems with their roommate and so I just assumed." He stopped talking and scratched his neck.

There was a calming silence for about three seconds. "I do have roommates. But, I highly doubt they'd come to a coffee shop to calm down." I sunk in my chair. "Do you want to talk about it?" he rested his arms on the table, slouching in his chair. "Are you okay with me ranting?" I sarcastically asked. "I'm completely fine with it. It's calming to hear others talk, especially you." I felt heat rise to my cheeks. "O-Oh... Heh. Thanks!" I smiled, sitting up in the chair. "So... you're cool with me ranting?" He nodded, cheekily grinning.

We talked for a few hours. Mostly things about my roommates and his family. But, time had to ruin the moment. "Hey Edd, I got to go. Call me, alright?" He handed me a piece of paper. "Got it!" he smiled warmly, grabbing his jacket from the back and heading out the door. "I should also get back home..." I sighed. "Please be better now." I reluctantly stood from the seat. Grabbing my cup, throwing it away.

I left the shop, entering the freezing cold weather and fresh snow. I took a left turn and started my way home.

I walked through the door, greeted by silence. "Guys? I'm back!" I shouted through the quietness, nothing in response. "Guys?" I asked again, my tone lowering. "Up ere' Edd." Tom's voice rang out. Without answer, I took off upstairs, stopping at Tom's door. "Tom? Can I come in?" I asked, standing next to the door. "Of course you can come in silly!" That was... Matt's voice. "Umm... Okay..." I slowly opened the door. "Hey Edd!" Tord commented.

Inside Tom's room was actually clean. But his bottles of alcohol stood like trophies on his shelves. "What are you all doing?" I asked, looking around. "This was our apology. This and the Christmas party we planned." Joy rushed to my heart. "Really?! You did all this?!" I ran up to him, probably looking like a child. "Y-Yeah..." there was an awkward silence. "Edd? I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you earlier. Pals?" he reached his hand out to shake. Instead, I tackled him and gave him a hug. "Pals!"

As me and Tord laid on the floor, Matt came over. "I want a hug too!" He replied, making Tord and I laugh. "Alright, alright..." Tord sat up, helping me off him. "I'll give you a hug. Come here." Matt giggled and gave Tord a hug, failing onto the floor again. "I think it's time for me to go..." Tom awkwardly shuffled to the door. I followed in pursuit.

We entered the kitchen. Tom leaning on the counter while I took a seat at the table. "So, how was your morning?" Tom asked me suddenly. "Hmm? Oh... It was... Interesting." He nodded, "interesting how?" I sighed happily. "Well, I met this really amazing guy at a coffee shop." Tom listened with curiosity. "Oh? And what was his name?" He sounded so intense. "His name was (Y/n). Didn't quite get his last name but he didn't get mine either." Tom nodded. "Okay, what is this? An interrogation?" He raised his hands in defense. "Nah, just lookin' out for you."

He calmly walked to the fridge, pulling out a coke. "No alcohol today?" I asked jokingly. "Well, after the fight with Tord I realized my mistake and limited the amount of alcohol I drink on a daily basis." I sat there, mouth agape. "Don't look shocked, you got mad at me for fighting and this was my solution." I closed my mouth, replacing the confusion with a smile. "That's great! I'm really glad to hear!" Tom let out a dry chuckle. "Yeah."

"But anyways, you said you were planning a party? Who all are you inviting?" I asked, standing and walking to the fridge. "Well, we were thinking of inviting the neighbors no matter how cruel they were. And we were also going to invite some friends of Matt and Tord. Speaking of which, do you have anyone you want to invite?" I grinned, "oh heck yes!" I shouted, fist pumping the air. "Alright. But make sure to let them know before tomorrow night. That's when the party starts." I jumped from my seat. "WHOOO!" I shouted, running upstairs.
