*Your P.O.V*

I woke up in an unfamiliar room. White walls, no windows, I couldn't see the door. All that was there was a lamp and the bed I was in. Pushing myself up, I felt the pain in my chest again. I exhaled heavily, and pulled my shirt collar out, peering down.

A long, stitched up scar ran down the center of my chest. I gagged, and pushed my shirt up against me. Alice was asleep by my feet. I looked around the room, observing all the edges of the padding. He must have put me here after I went under.

But why?

I forced myself to stand, and Alice readjusted her position on the bed. I circled the room, pushing on all the areas that looked like a possible door. Finally, a darker patch stood out.
I pressed my hand firmly against the padding, and I pushing. It jiggled, visibly locked, but visibly a door. I exhaled deeply, and placed my hands on the padding.

"Smiley?" I called out, hoping he could hear me. "You can't keep me in here!" I shoved the door, and stepped back. I sat back down on the bed, and rested my head in my hands.

Hours passed, and I was hungry. Alice needed out, and I had to pee. Like, really badly. I continued to circle the room, but there was no hope of him coming back. My anxiety was growing now. He told me he was sorry before he did this.

Was he... is he trying to kill me?

Is he dead? Did he lock me here to keep me from telling? I'm gonna die in here!

These thoughts ransacked my brain, sending me into a panic. I started pounding on the door.

"Smiley!" I screamed, kicking the the door.

I jammed the fingers under the padding, and starting prying it off the door. I ripped the padding off, sending the soft insides flying across the room. I pulled all the padding off, digging out a handle that was inserted into the door. It was flat, and I had to pry it out. The cold metal handle popped out, and it's shiny material looked brand new. It had never been exposed before.
I gripped it tightly, and pushed it down, the door made a loud click, and pushed open.

My eyes widened, and I pushed my way out of the room. Peering around the door, I saw the basement was all dark. All the lights had been shut off. The only light came from the small lamp in the room with me.

I stepped back, and grabbed the leash, and walked Alice out of the room with me.
I knew my way around well enough to manage in the dark, so I found my way main light switch for the basement.

I gripped the handle, and pushed the lever up. The lights surged and flickered on, and the fluorescent glow blinded me for a moment. I rubbed my eyes and looked around.

Empty.

Not a soul, or any sign of this being a hospital. Let alone one that was being used long after abandonment.

I walked down to my old room. The door was locked, and so were all the others. I pushed and peered through the small windows. Nothing. Smiley's office was empty. Not even a scrap of paper.

I walked back out, and up the stairs to the main floor of the hospital.

The lights were all off, like usual, but there was an unfamiliar emptiness that I had never felt before.

Even when I knew Smiley was gone, I knew he would be back.

This... This was an abandoned feeling. A feeling of dread, hate, sickness, and fear. All bundled together.

I walked down the hallway. The windows still the same, and doors still all closed and locked. I dragged my hand along the wall, searching for a light. Smiley typically had candles with matches so we could see at night, but I guess he took them too.

I walked around the hospital probably 4 times. I walked outside to the driveway. Tire prints still lingered in the dirt. He had been there. It wasn't a dream. I picked Alice up into my arms and walked back inside. This was, if only now, my chance to go home. Back to a regular life.
School, work, shopping... Friends?

They probably all forgot about me. I've been gone for weeks. What would I tell them? That I've been held captive in the basement of a notorious serial killer??

I exhaled deeply and kept walking down the road. It was raining, and I was soaked. I didn't have on shoes, or a jacket. The light blue top I had on was completely transparent, and the black sweat pants felt like weights on my legs. This was gonna take a while.

Alice was in my arms, keeping me warm. She had her tongue hanging out, panting. Rain pounded on the ground, and a cold wind blew through the thick trees. I shivered, hugging Alice.

"Why did I do this, Alice?" I asked her, forcing myself to keep walking.

I walked for miles. I knew it was from how much my feet blistered when I sat down on the curb. Alice circled me, and tugged at my pants.

"What baby?" I asked her, holding the leash. She barked, then growled low. I glanced over my shoulder, into the dark woods. Standing, I picked Alice up. She growled more, then started barking loudly. The bushes started to shake, and I staggered back into the road.
A dark figure emerged from the bushes, and stood on the road in front of me.

"It's been a while, Y/N." He said.
