*Your P.O.V*

I listened for when they exited the kitchen, and I shakily glanced over at Carol. She smiled softly at me, and took a seat at the table again.

Her expression changed when she saw me, and she nervously glanced at Joesph.

"Are you okay?" she asked, clasping her hands together on the table.

I nodded quickly, and slightly laughed.

"Yes, I'm sorry. Ummm, may I use your bathroom??" I asked, acting extremely agitated.

Her eyes popped, and she leaped out of her seat.

"Of course! I am so sorry!!" She led me down the hall, and showed me where the bathroom was.

"Thank you." I mumbled, and jutted into the bathroom, locking the door behind me.

"I'll be in the dining room, just come back there."she said through the door.

I let out a shaky breathe, and sat down on the toilet. I didn't even have to go. I placed my head in my hands, and I felt tears form in the corners of my eyes.

"No Y/N. You can't cry. You need to stay strong." I whispered my myself, wiping my eyes. I glanced around the bathroom, and I began plotting my escape roots from there.

There was a small window above the bathtub, just big enough to squeeze through. I stood, and climbed up, pushing it open. There was a screen, and I pushed it out, knocking it into their, as I can assume, backyard. I poked my head out, and I glanced around the yard. There was a large shop in the back, and a steel door, and no apparent windows. Chills ran down my spine, and I climbed back in. I closed the window, and I flushed the toilet to cover up my plans.

I left with slightly damp hands, and I walked back to the dining room, growing anxious with every step I took. When I entered, Carol was at the table playing on her phone, and Joesph was nowhere to be seen.

She smiled when she noticed me.

"Welcome back." she gestured to my seat, and I sat down again.

"Did you enjoy dinner?" she asked in her usual tone. Nothing seemed off.

"She has no idea I heard." I though to myself. I let out a sign and patted my stomach.

"Best meal I've ever had." I returned with a smile. She giggled and relaxed into her chair.

"I'm so glad you enjoyed it. As you probably can tell, we don't get a lot of company, so I never get the chance to make it for anyone." Her voice was soft, and she looked down at the table.

"O-oh..." I stammered. "I'm sorry. That has to be tough." I placed my hand on hers, and smiled softly at her. She looked up at me and smiled back.

"You're a really sweet girl Y/N." she gripped my hand gently, but then quickly pulled away.

I pulled back, and glanced down.

"I am?" I asked her, looking down at my lap.

She nodded, and crossed her arms on the table.

"I think you are. You remind me a lot of myself when I was younger." She looked over at me, and smiled.

"You're absolutely beautiful too." She stood, and walked over to me.

I grew nervous, but I didn't look up at her when she stood next to me.

"Your hair color, your eyes, everything. It's beautiful." She stroked my hair.

"Is this your natural color?" she asked me, combing her fingers through the mass on my head.

"Yep." I replied, trying to stay calm.

"I am so jealous. I always wanted this color hair." she continued to stroke my hair, humming softly as she did.

I clasped my hands together tightly, and stayed focused on my lap. Finally, she stopped coming my hair, and leaned down to look at me.

"I know you heard." She whispered to me, her expression going cold. She was bent over with her hand on the table, the other on the back of the chair I was sitting in.

My eyes widened, but I didn't look up at her.

"Heard what?" My voice quivered, and I could feel sweat forming on my face.

She slammed her hand down on the table, and I jumped in my seat.

"How stupid do you think I am?" she grabbed my hair and pulled, forcing me to look at her.

"I know you heard, and now you know." She tightened the grip on my hair, and I dug my nails into her wrist, scratching at her hand. She yanked my hair, pulling me out of the chair, and I collapsed onto the floor, my hair still being pulled.

"Get up!" she screamed at me, digging her nails into my head, pulling me to my knees.

"Stop!" I yelled back, trying to break away from her. She sunk her nails deeper, and it felt like I was bleeding. She dragged me out of the kitchen, and down the basement stairs...
