Two Days Later
Today was the day I finally got to sign the papers and see the building that my mom found for the new company location, and I was oddly excited about seeing what I had to work with. Though I have yet to find a contractor, I had Rhonda looking up contractors that were willing to work around the clock to help me get this building exactly the way I want it.
Checking the time, I had thirty minutes to get to the north part of Seattle, before I was completely late and I didn't want to make a bad first impression.
Wes was already downstairs waiting on me, standing outside of the car, opening the door for me as soon as I stepped outside. I climbed into the backseat and put my seat belt on, focusing my attention on my phone as I texted my friends. They wanted to know how things were going so far, despite me only being here for three whole days, but I told them that everything was going according to plan.
Twenty minutes later, I had arrived at my destination, staring out of the window, as the car came to a complete stop. The building my mother had found was pretty big and almost a little too perfect, if you ask me. Stepping out of the car, Wes followed me as we headed inside, looking around the empty building that was clearly going to need a lot of work. The blank white walls were pealing horribly and the floors looked dirty and moldy. There were a total of five floors in the building, but you'd think there were more, judging by how big the outside was. All in all, this place was a dump, but it was a perfect dump that I planned on turning into a million dollar company.
"Ms. Langston?" I heard someone say, as I turned around. I saw a man in a cheap looking black suit approach me, holding his hand out for me to shake. "I'm David Geirson. We spoke on the phone earlier this week." He was tall and skinny, with black, wavy hair, and dark brown eyes. He'd be a decent looking man if he focused a little bit more on his appearance, but other than that...he was pretty basic.
"Right, of course! Nice to meet you, Mr. Geirson." I smiled, shaking his hand. I made a mental not to send my mom a text message, because she could've at least told me that she impersonated me. "So...shall we get down to business?"
"Actually...we've sort of hit a little bump in the road." I furrowed my eyebrows a little, shifting my purse to the other arm.
"What kind of little bump in the road?"
"You see...there was another buyer, who outbid you on buying the building. He offered us double, but we haven't finalized anything yet because I wanted to know if you wanted to maybe up the offer a bit?" He questioned, making me arch an eyebrow. Okay...I didn't see this coming, and this was definitely putting a damper on what I had planned for this place.
"Can you excuse me for a minute? I need to make a phone call." I told him, as he nodded his head.
"Absolutely. Please, take your time." He turned and walked away, while I pulled my phone out and called my mom.
