I was in a deep sleep, waking up to the sound of someone calling me from Skype. I squinted my eyes a little, reaching over to grab my iPad, answering the call.
"Hey ladies." I spoke, groggily.
"Wait a minute. Are you still sleeping? Damn, what time is it in Seattle?" Audrey asked.
"It's the mid-afternoon, but I decided to sleep in for a little while since I stayed up all last night."
"What were you doing up?" Natalie asked me.
"Not what...WHO? Who were you up doing all last night?" Peyton asked, smiling widely.
"Seriously Peyton?" I scoffed, holding in my smile. I rolled over on my back, rubbing my sleepy eyes, as I help the iPad up. "I was up ordering furniture for the building. The place is almost finished and I'm so excited to see how it all turns out." Technically, what I told them wasn't really a lie. I did order furniture yesterday, but it just so happens that I did it before I went to Christian's house.
"Well we can't wait to see it, best friend. We know it's gon look fye when you do finally finish it." Valentina voiced.
"Thanks V. Awww, I miss you guys so much! You have no idea how lonely it is here."
"Girl, we can only imagine." Kennedy chimed in. "Have you at least attempted to make new friends?"
"She doesn't need to make new friends when she's got us, Ken!" Natalie spat.
"True, but we're here and she's there. Which means she could easily make new friends."
"I've met a few people, if I'm being honest. There was José, a photographer that I had accidentally bumped into my first or second day down here. He was really nice and sweet, but I've been so busy with work and we haven't really had a chance to hang out. Then there's Elliot. He's the contractor I hired to work on the building. He's so cool and funny, and we became fast friends. Then there's Kate, who was really nice when we first met, but now I think she dislikes me; along with her best friend Ana, who didn't like me from the moment she laid eyes on me. Unfortunately, Kate is Elliot's girlfriend, so I'm sure I will be seeing more of her in the future." I explained.
"Hold up...why don't they like you?" Valentina asked me.
"Long story short...I met this guy named Christian the day after I got here, and we just constantly kept bumping into each other. Then afterwards, I met Kate and Ana, and Ana admitted to being his girlfriend. It was clear that she really liked him, but he didn't seem the least bit interested in her or their relationship. So, one day Christian comes to me and admits that he likes me and wants to build some type of relationship with me. At first, I was unsure because of her, but now? We're sort of dating." They all started screaming and talking over one another, making me laugh and roll my eyes. They act like Christian is my first boyfriend.
