(This Chapter Picks Up Where The Last Chapter Left Off, Before The Flashback. Enjoy!)
I had just gotten out of the shower, contemplating on how I was going to ask Christian if he wanted to come with me to California, in hopes that he'd say no. Is it wrong that I didn't want him to come? Not because I didn't want him to meet the rest of my family, but because I didn't want him to have a run in with Deron and Kelis. Much to my dismay, I knew I'd see them both while I was back home, only because they were joined at the hip now. I just wanted to avoid drama at all costs, and between Kelis, Deron, and Desiree...drama was bound to break out.
After getting dressed, brushing my teeth, and doing something to my wild, curly hair, I walked out of Christian's room and headed towards his home office. He had waken up early this morning, to work out, before taking some calls for work.
"Christian?" I called out, knocking on the door. I poked my head inside, watching as he motioned for me to come in, while talking to someone on the phone.
"We'll deal with this matter later, but until then...just get me what I asked for!" He snapped, hanging up the phone. He looked tensed, tossing his phone down on the desk, before looking up at me.
"If you're busy, then I can leave." He shook his head, walking over to where I was, as he wrapped his arms around me.
"I'm never too busy for you, baby." He leaned down and kissed my lips, pressing his forehead against mine. We seem to do that a lot, but I didn't mind because I loved looking into his beautiful eyes. "Did I hear you on the phone earlier?"
"Yeah, my mom called to ask what time I'd be in California tomorrow." I told him.
"You're leaving?" He questioned, furrowing his eyebrows a little.
"Yeah, but just for a week or so. My younger siblings graduation is coming up and I promised them that I'd be there, plus my dad's birthday is around the same time, and my mom is throwing him a surprise birthday party."
"Oh, I understand. Your attendance is needed." He caressed my cheek, as I nodded my head, taking a deep breath. Here goes nothing.
"Yeah, but my mom wanted me to ask you if you'd like to come. She and my dad told everyone that we were dating, so now the whole family wants to meet you, but I understand if you don't want to go." I said, hoping he'd say no, because he had to work or something.
"Of course I'll come." He said, making my heart drop. So much for him saying no, huh?
"Really?"
"Yes really, baby. You've been putting up with Mia and Elliot for weeks, not to mention my parents, so I don't mind coming with you to meet your family. I'll have to move some meetings around, but I'm sure I can work from my laptop if needed." For some odd reason, I started smiling, as I leaned up and kissed him. I know I didn't want him to come, but just knowing that he was willing to come made me feel some type of way. "When are we leaving?"
