"Rom com or horror?" Hendery asked, going through the selection on Netflix.

"Rom com. I can't handle that dark stuff." Xiao Jun brought the massive bowl of popcorn to the couch.

"Oh?" he smirked. "You're scared of horror movies?"

"Hendery, stop."

Despite the other's protest, Hendery still put on the horror movie. Xiao Jun only sighed loudly, knowing he would regret this, but didn't do anything to stop the movie from continuing.

The beginning was boring, like every horror movie, but when the first jump scare dropped, the boys lost it.

Xiao Jun hid his face in a pillow, trying to rid the scary image from his mind. Hendery let out a high pitched screech, almost choking on his candy.

"See, this wasn't a good idea." Xiao Jun huffed looking at the other boy in the dark room, the lights from the tv being the only source of life.

"I regret this." Hendery reached for the remote, trying not to look back at the screen.

They ended up shifting to a rom com, a much lighter atmosphere surrounding them. The dumb jokes the characters made or the stupid actions they performed really brightened up the mood.

"I call it. They're gonna have sex in the shed." Hendery stuffed a handful of popcorn in his mouth.

"No. They're gonna fuck in their tent." Xiao Jun countered, taking a sip of his water.

"Wanna bet?" the other raised an eyebrow.

"What do I get out of it?"

"Uh, more candy?"

"Lame."

Hendery shook his head, a closed mouthed smile settling upon his lips. "We'll have to see what happens."

Turns out, the couple only kissed in the shed, nothing more.

But tears started falling from Hendery's eyes, and he tried to hide the fact that he's literally having a broke down because of a kiss scene by shielding his face with his hand. Plus, it was a sorta dark, Xiao Jun wouldn't notice right?

"Hendery, are you crying?"

Hendery's breath hitched, muscles tensing as he tried to hold back his apparently audible sounds of having a meltdown.

"No..." he answered, but his voice came out raspy.

He really didn't want Xiao Jun to catch him in this state, where he couldn't control his emotions.

"What are you crying about?" the other pressed on, Hendery swallowed thickly, his throat started to get sore.

"This kiss scene...it's just so beautiful." his tone reflected the complete opposite of adoration and fanboying; it was bitter and broken.

Soon the movie froze (he assumed Xiao Jun paused it) and the other boy scooting closer to him on the couch. He felt a gentle grip on his wrist, pulling his hand down from his tear stained face.

"Are you okay?" Xiao Jun's tone was calm, yet full of concern.

Fuck it.

"It reminded me of something I didn't want to remember." Hendery croaked out.

Xiao Jun tilted his head, eyes softening. "Do you want to talk about it?"

"My ex girlfriend." he finally spat out, before choking out a sob. He knew he was being a crybaby, but he couldn't stop it.

"We dated for three years in high school. When we broke up at the end of senior year, it really hurt me. All my friends left because I was so mopey. I felt so lonely. Damn, so so lonely." his voice broke even more as the last sentence slipped off his tongue.

The tears were freely spilling from his eyes at this point and he wiped as many of them away as he could with his fingertips.

"Then we moved, and I met you Xiao Jun. You really accepted me as a person. Every time we hung out, you healed my heart little by little. You made me feel a lot less lonely." he softly smiled, sniffling.

Before he could say anymore, a pair of soft lips met his, silencing his cries. Xiao Jun's hand curled under Hendery's chin, pulling their faces closer together.

Though the kiss only last a few seconds, Hendery's heart was pounding against his rib cage the other boy could probably hear it. To say the least, he melted, all the negative thoughts from his past fading away.

"I don't like seeing you sad, Hendery." Xiao Jun pulled away, their foreheads still touching. He ran his thumb over Hendery's bottom lip and it somehow put the sadden boy at ease.

Blushing heavily, Hendery couldn't even get words to come off his tongue. Xiao Jun just kissed him, and his brain was definitely denying it.

To prove his thoughts wrong, he cupped Xiao Jun's cheeks, slamming their lips together again. This kiss was more sloppy, but full of so much emotion, as Hendery poured all his feelings into it.

Breathless, they both broke the kiss and gasped for air. Xiao Jun's breath smelt like sweetness, probably from all the candy he ate earlier.

"I'm glad I was able to heal your heart." Xiao Jun spoke softly, his fingers playing with the hair barely reaching Hendery's nape. "I feel so honored."

Hendery chuckled. "You make me so happy."

Xiao Jun smiled back, his hands now tangling into the other's hair.

Laughing softly, Hendery draped his arms around the other boy's neck, leaning in and connecting their lips for the third time.
