Xiao Jun bounced on his toes after he finished his sugar filled breakfast, not only because he was excited for what Hendery was gonna give him, but also the delightful call on his phone.

He answered, the ringtone stopping.

"Who's calling?" Hendery asked, leaning over to peek at the screen.

"Happy birthday!" Xiao Jun's parents screamed in unison as facetime connected.

"Thank you." he smiled widely, in utter joy to see his parents.

"How does it feel to have spent two decades on this earth?" his father asked.

"I don't feel any different."

Hendery laughed at the response, catching Xiao Jun's parents' attention.

"Who's with you?" his mom asked, narrowing her eyes in suspicion.

"This is Hendery. My new neighbor I told you about a while ago." Xiao Jun tilted his phone to the side so the other boy could be in the shot.

"Hello!" Hendery waved, flashing his gorgeous smile towards the pair.

"He's handsome." Xiao Jun's mother cooed.

"Yeah." Xiao Jun agreed, directing his gaze towards his boyfriend.

Hendery blushed lightly. "Thank you."

"Go on the boat first." Hendery ordered.

Xiao Jun furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "But aren't you supposed to get on with me?" he replied.

"Yeah, I will. But get about fifteen feet away from the dock so I can give you my present."

"Alright." Xiao Jun sighed, hopping on the boat and steering it away a little, leaving his boyfriend at the docks.

Once he was a small distance away, he stopped, letting the boat float by itself. He watched Hendery lay down on his stomach on the docks and place an origami boat on the water. The current carried the small thing towards Xiao Jun and he crouched down to pick it off the water.

It was, of course, folded super delicately and nicely. Xiao Jun turned it around slowly in his hands, catching sight of the message written on the other side.

It wasn't a myth after all. It did lead me to my soulmate

Xiao Jun melted at the message, he didn't know someone on this planet could be so sweet. His lips formed into a huge grin, a small laugh escaping his mouth as he looked at his boyfriend at the docks.

All Hendery did was smile back at him. Xiao Jun quickly steered the boat towards the dock again, close enough for his boyfriend to jump onto. Once Hendery was on the boat, Xiao Jun threw his arms around his neck, crashing their lips together.

The lip lock was full of emotion, Hendery's hands clawing at the back of his boyfriend's shirt, Xiao Jun's arms tightening around his neck. They unfortunately had to pull back since they didn't want to die from lack of oxygen, Xiao Jun staring into Hendery's soft eyes which glistened in the sun.

"Is it too early to say 'I love you'?" he panted.

"Not at all." Hendery sweetly responded, his hands now resting on Xiao Jun's waist. "I love you too."

Xiao Jun didn't slip away from the embrace, he was enjoying this too much. This was the best birthday he could ever ask for.
