this book is ending soon

Pain throbbed behind Hendery's temples as he opened his eyes, the brightness from the window was too much for him. He shut them again and let out a groan, just wanting to go back to sleep.

He shifted in his position on the couch, realizing his arms were tightly hugging something. Opening his eyes slightly, he gazed down to see his boyfriend cuddled up to his chest, and their legs were tangled.

Hendery's lips formed into the closed mouth smile as he tilted his head down to place a kiss in Xiao Jun's hair. The boy stirred in his sleep, opening his eyes.

"Morning." Hendery rasped.

Xiao Jun closed his eyes again, snuggling further into the other's chest. They cuddled for a few more minutes before they decided to get up and ask Yangyang if he had any pain meds.

Swallowing the pills, Hendery pressed his elbows against the kitchen counter, burying his face into his palms. He really wanted his headache to go away.

He was so focused on his pain he didn't feel a chin press against his shoulder.

"Do you wanna go to my house?" Xiao Jun mumbled into his boyfriend's ear.

Hendery blinked, lazily lifting his head from his palms to face the other. "Are you well enough to drive?" he sluggishly replied.

"Yeah, I'll be fine, the meds should be kicking in. You can sleep on the way there."

"Okay."

After thanking Yangyang and the others for the small party, the boys departed and were on their way to Xiao Jun's house. Hendery slept the entire drive, missing his boyfriend's loving glances whenever he would stare at his sleeping form during red lights.

"Hendery," the boy felt a light shake on his shoulder.

"We're here." Xiao Jun continued softly.

When they got into the house, Hendery immediately collapsed onto the couch.

"Do you have really bad hangovers or something?" Xiao Jun asked, plopping down at the edge of the couch and moving strands of Hendery's hair from his eyes.

"Mm." was the only reply he got as the other closed his eyes.

"I'm gonna get you some breakfast. If you eat something, you'll probably feel better." he left a kiss on Hendery's cheek.

Xiao Jun strolled over to the fridge, grabbing some leftover cake from his birthday. Yeah, he reasoned that sugar wasn't the best thing to feed someone with a bad hangover, but it was the only item in his fridge at the moment.

Bringing a slice and a glass of water over to the couch, Xiao Jun took some of the cake on the fork, lifting it to the other's mouth.

Hendery sat up to clasp his lips around it, slowly chewing the cake. In silence, Xiao Jun fed his boyfriend, giving him sips of water along the way.

"Do you feel slightly better?" he asked, after feeding Hendery the last bite.

"Mhm." he lightly nodded. He lazily wrapped his arms around Xiao Jun's torso, burying his face into his chest.

"Wanna cuddle?" Xiao Jun giggled, looking down at his boyfriend with the biggest heart eyes ever. Hendery nodded, letting the other lay down before he put his head back on Xiao Jun's chest.

Xiao Jun reached towards the coffee table for the remote, mindlessly flipping through the channels. Since there wasn't anything good on, they resorted to Netflix and watched some comedy.

Xiao Jun's fingers gently ran through Hendery's soft hair, keeping his eyes trained to the screen.

"I love you." Hendery mumbled, his eyes falling closed.

"That was really random." Xiao Jun laughed.

"You're the one who said it to me first."

"Not directly."

"Whatever, old man."

"Oh, I forgot I had that nickname. And shut up, I'm not that old."
