Chapter 18

Weeks passed and Christmas break was finally over. Of course Deidara was overflowed with art supplies as presents, he didnt care. Kashikoi even stopped by to spend time with him and Sumato and Chie. For Deidara, it was a good Christmas.

The blonde was sitting at the usual table the group sat at during lunch, he was currently telling them about a funny story that Kashikoi had told him. He was soon accompanied by his boyfriend, who had to stay after class to finish up a test. Sasori smiled at the two, and Deidara returned the smile. The two best friends had finally made up.

The day was pretty much a normal one, that was until a teen with dark brown hair that was just above his shoulders and pale eyes sat down next to Deidara.
The blonde raised an eyebrow "Neji? What the hell are you doing over here? Wait," he trailed off and actually took Neji's appearance in "you cut your hair." The Hyuga nodded "I told you I wanted to change the style of it."
Hidan frowned "you lost or something Hyuga?" Neji merely shook his head "let's just say I'm avoiding some people." Deidara sighed at that response. He knew something like this would happen.

He accepted the fact that well, he was going to have to teach his friends to get along with each other. Which was going to be a difficult job. They were all complete opposite. His normal group of friends were all outcasts who smoked cigarettes or weed. Or they vaped. They all drank alchohol at points. They sometimes almost got caught by the cops.

Neji on the other hand, was popular. Everyone knew who he was and he knew everyone. He had superior grades. He was rich. He was extremely attractive -not that none of his friends weren't-. And he didnt smoke anything of any sort. He didn't drink alcohol whenever he got the chance. And never almost got in trouble with the police.

This was going to a long second semester.

That's when it hit him. He had five to six months, counting January right now, until he was no longer a high school student but a young adult who was going to college for a degree in art and pottery. He looked at his boyfriend next to him. He wondered how long they would stay together in the future.

Days went by and Deidara eventually got his friends to all get along with each other to the point where they would allow Neji to hang out with them and Neji would actually accept the invite. They crew was actually at Hidan's right now.

That was one of the very few things Neji and Hidan had in common. Their families were both loaded with money. Hidan's parents, Asui Kami and Hiro Kami, both were very high up in major businesses dealing with religion. How they didn't know that Hidan was Pansexual and had a boyfriend was beyond Deidara's belief. As well as how they didn't know that Hidan believed in a god known as Jashin.

The gang was sitting in Hidan's living room, his parents were out of town and no one really watched over him. The silver haired boy was currently passing the cigarette that Sasori lit around. A spark lit up on Kisame's eye. "Hey Neji, why don't you take a hit?"

The dark haired boy stiffened slightly but laughed "I'm good thanks, I'm just starting to get used to drinking alcohol." Konan stood from her spot and sat next to him, her fishnet glove covered arm wrapped around his shoulder "come on, you only live once."

Deidara, though didnt like the thought of peer pressuring his friend, agreed with Konan "she's right Neji, come on it's not that bad. You don't like it, you dont have to do it again." That sealed it.

Neji sighed and put his hands up in defeat "alright," Konan handed the addictive little thing to him with a smile "go right ahead," and the Hyuga complied, only to start coughing like crazy. Kakuzu laughed and handed the boy a glass of water that was brought in case someone, meaning Hidan, had one too many shots. The pale eyed boy took it and downed half, he chuckled slightly "how the hell do you guys even handle those things?"

Pein laughed as he took the cigarette from him, taking a long drag. "You just get used to it."

The days continued to turn to weeks and it was the end of January. Neji had been hanging with the group of outcasts so long, they started to consider him one of their own. Of course that stirred up problems with Neji's other friends. Naruto seemed to harass them more often, saying that probably drugged Neji, of course the group just brushed the Uzumaki off.

Though he was sad to admit it, Deidara missed how things used to be. He especially missed having Itachi around. The wound in his heart from his friend's suicide was still fresh, and it still hurt. The blonde was again with his friends, they were currently passing around Konan's vape, Neji had gotten used to smoking.

Deidara was snuggled into Obito as the Uchiha had an arm wrapped around his waist. The dark haired boy tilted the blonde's head up and caught him in a slightly passionate liplock, which Deidara returned but laughed in the process as he pulled away "you are so impatient. I told you that if you wanted to make out, wait until we get back to my house."

Madara stifled a laugh, but failed "I did not need to know that." The artist only shrugged "gotta set boundaries sometimes."
Neji chuckled lightly at this and reached over to grab his jacket "I should probably get going. Told Lee and Tenten I would meet them at the sushi place in the mall. I'll see you guys later."

Deidara watched the brunette leave and looked at Obito "we should probably take of too babe. For all Chie and dad know, there was an extremely long wait at Olive Garden." The Uchiha nodded "yeah, see you guys tomorrow then?" Konan asked with a smile. The two boy's nodded and walked out of the house.

Deidara opened to passenger door to Obito's car and looked at his boyfriend, giving him a small smile, which the Uchiha returned. The ride back to the blonde's house wasn't a quiet one but it wasn't full of conversation either. When he was pulling into the driveway Obito glanced at his boyfriend and sighed "babe." The blonde looked over when he heard the 'pet name' and waited for him to continue. "....never mind it's not important." Obito said as he turned off the car and unbuckled his seat belt. Deidara frown as he watched the other get out of the car but followed suite. The couple walked into the house and the blonde called put his guardians and was utterly confused when they came into the kitchen with big, chipper smiles on their faces. "Hi.....what has you guys all happy?" He asked, already regretting it. Chie and Sumato smiled at each other and the strawberry blonde walked up to the teenager "Dei....we have great news! I'm going to become your stepmother!" She exclaimed. Deidara couldn't hold back his jaw drop. Chie. Chie Morigane. The woman who was either the coolest person ever or made your life a living hell was no longer Chie Morigane. She was Chie Soon To Be Katsu.

Hey guys! Sorry for the long wait on this chapter. A lot of things were going on behind the scenes. First it was because I wanted to focus more on my projects (The Breath of A Crystal Sage and Everest Bounds) but then some personal things started going on. To make a long sob story short,
I have a friend who is pretty much my brother who disappeared out of nowhere and my paranoid ass jumped to the worse conclusions and became a mess for two weeks only for it to turn out being that he just dropped out school.

So yeah. It's all good now.

Oh, and I also had exams going on (Which I passed all of them with flying colors!!!)
