I held Tristan in my arms, rocking him slowly. Leilani has been working night shifts for a while, anything to earn more money.
As much as I want her to move out, I'm really going to miss Tristan. Being my son, we seemed to form a bond very quickly and I fear I won't be able to see him as much when they move out.
I sighed, looking at his gentle features. His chubby cheeks and long eyelashes were almost identical to mine as a baby. A small smile broke out on my face.
But he wasn't just my child. He was Leilani's child as well. She's been there for him since birth and I barely knew he existed until a few weeks ago. I want to be the father to him, making up all the missing years.
My slow rocking relaxed him, light snores escaping his lips. I placed him in his bed, pecking his forehead. I admired him as he slept. He's a part of me now.
Quietly, I crept out of his room, keeping his door slightly opened, just in case. I walked downstairs, into the living room, finally able to relax. However, as soon as I reached for my phone, the door bell rang.
Sighing, I stood back up, opening it. Raelynn was meant to come over, as we haven't spent time with each other since her mom came back. We haven't been able to spend a good amount of time with each other with everything going on.
Expecting her, I smiled, "Hey, ba-." I cut myself off seeing Addison standing in the doorway.
"Can I come in?" she asked.
I widened the door for her, "Uh, yeah. Everything okay?"
"Kinda, not really. It's just..." she couldn't finish her sentence, tears falling down her face.
I scooted closer to her, putting my arm around her shoulder. "Hey, hey, hey, what's wrong?"
"It's just, with the pregnancy, everything's been so hard, Grayson. Raelynn probably doesn't want to talk to me anymore and I know I won't be able to handle this alone," she continued to sob.
I pulled her into a friendly embrace, trying to comfort her. "You still have me," I chuckled. "I'm not good with babies, but I can handle kids."
I tried to pull away, but she gripped onto my tighter. I've realised, everytime I hug Addison, she lingers it on longer.
When she finally decided to pull away, she placed her hand on my shoulder. I moved away, feeling uncomfortable.
After Rae mentioned it, whenever Addison's near, she's always flirty. But I never thought much of it, as she was Rae's best friend.
"Addison, I'm gonna check on Tristan," I made an excuse to leave.
"Who's Tristan?" she asked, still having tears falling down her face. I didn't respond, quickly walking up the stairs.

anyone expect that?Grayson walked upstairs, leaving me on the couch. In all honesty, I couldn't care less about Raelynn. I've always had feelings for Grayson, but being the best friend I was, I stayed out of the way for Raelynn.
