Last chapter:
Sayuri flinches upon hearing that, and turns to the man. “What about me—”
“You'll be of no use. You need to become one of us completely before joining in such missions.” Pein looks around, giving little nods to the three men – a gesture that lets them know that they should prepare to leave.
Although this all seems like it will go smoothly, and quickly... It won't.
Obstacles exist.
The obstacles? Well... I can't really say just yet...
But there'll be plenty...
___
It's been about a week since your encounter with Sasuke Uchiha, and everything has been quite calm. You've also been assigned to fight Sasuke every day, as part of your training. Orochimaru hasn't really taken any notice of you, and it's honestly frustrating.
Of course, during the week, you overheard a conversation between Orochimaru and Kabuto. Apparently, Kabuto was ordered to create a hole in the wall, forcing the Akatsuki to think that you were kidnapped.
Sighing, you sit down on your bed, slowly taking the bandages off of your arms. You're not a physical fighter. Hell, you don't really fit into such a category at all. Your fighting skills are really weak, and the most you can do, is punch and kick.
Your real power is more of a mental strength.
The training with Sasuke is leaving you feeling broken and weak. Honestly, it wouldn't come as a surprise if you have some broken bones.
And that girl that clinged onto Orochimaru? You haven't come into any sort of contact with her. You think it's for the best.
“[Your Name], I thought you might be hungry, so I brought you some food, and a glass of water.” The sound of Kabuto's voice causes your movements to come to a stop as your gaze moves up to meet his.
“I don't want anything.” You say softly, now getting the bandages off completely. You let the white material drop to the floor.
Kabuto sighs and goes to place the tray down on your bedside table, his shoes tapping softly as he moves about. You stand up, lazily watching him.
“You really nee—”
You scoff and shoot a glare at him. “No. I'd rather die.”
After hearing your words, Kabuto chuckles and slowly starts closing in on you, leaving you to stand with the back of your knees against the bed.
“Is that so?” In one swift move, his fingers are wrapped around your neck as he leans down slightly, his eyes narrowed.
However, you just smile and shrug.
Before his fingers can tighten their grip, there's a loud bang, followed by a few after.
Kabuto releases you, give a little shove which is enough to make you fall back on the bed.
Wasting no time, Kabuto races out of the room and runs down the corridor. Not really caring, you follow, but make sure to keep a distance. Reaching somewhere towards the entrance, you notice most of the walls are broken. “What the...?” You question quietly, moving to hide behind some of the broken pieces of concrete.
Looking around, Kabuto is nowhere to be seen. Instead of white hair, you catch a glimpse of orange and your heart does a flip.
Suddenly, low grunts can be heard, followed by a string of curses.
“Now, the only problem is that we have to look for her, hm.” Comes a familiar voice and you slowly push yourself out of your hiding spot.
“Why'd you come to save me?” Before you could stop yourself, the words slip out. You wince at that.
“[Your Name]!?”
You spin around and see Hidan. Despite everything that happened, you run over to him, but before you reach him, you get pulled aside.
“Now, now... Why are you trying to steal my sweet [Your Name] from me?” Orochimaru's voice rings out from behind you. You squirm in his tight grasp, your body aching from the bruises of your practice.
Before anyone can move, Pein is already stepping forward. “Stealing your sweet [Your Name]? She belongs with us. Give her back at once, Orochimaru.”
The man's arms around you loosens and you can feel his chest vibrate a bit as he chuckles.
“She's mine now.” Orochimaru says, being a bit possessive. In all honesty, it's freaking you out, but all you can do is just stand there, trapped in his hold.
Hidan takes hold of his scythe and you quickly glance around, not finding Kabuto, Sasuke or the girl anywhere in sight.
Kakuzu takes a threatening step forward.
Deidara reaches his hands into his bag of clay.
Pein stands his ground, gaze firm and strong.
Orochimaru smirks and his hold on you becomes tight again.
Oh no.
