Chapter 14

I apologise that I didn't update like I promised to; on Tuesday or Wednesday... But I fell sick and was forced to stay in bed. I was not able to do much. So, I was thinking that maybe I should do a double update soon, to make up for it.

Last chapter:

“Mmm... Hm...” You groan, feeling yourself laying on something soft as consciousness starts taking over. Your eyes flutter open but you blink a few times, something that helps you wake up on some days.

You crane your head to the side and see that you are in some type of room and you're laying on your back. It dawns on you that you're laying on someone's bed and you're about to sit up and get out, but the door opens, stopping you.

Squinting at the figure, you smile.

“Tobi! Come here, I missed you!” You cry out dramatically, opening your arms.

The masked man hurries over to you before bending slightly to hug you, his arms being quick to wrap around you. A little relieved, you move your arms, allowing them to go around Tobi's waist.

“Tobi missed you! Tobi was so worried!” He exclaims, pulling away to look at you.

Smiling, you pull your arms away from the man. “Did you really?” You want to sound confident, but your voice seems to fail you as it lowers. You have been lied to and now you're just so confused. Everything is so confusing.

Tobi gently moves your legs aside as he takes a seat beside you.

“Would I ever lie to you? Have I ever lied to you?” He questions, turning his upper body to face you. The seriousness is evident in his voice; it's not hard to miss, especially now that he's Obito.

You sigh softly, looking down at your hands.

“What kind of question is that?”

“What do you mean? And, hey, you didn't answer my question.” You can hear that he's now a tiny bit annoyed, but you brush that aside.

“That's exactly why I asked that, Obito.” You whisper, shaking your head. “You all lied to me in some way. You all made everything confusing.”

Obito lowers his head, at a loss for words, and it's because he knows that you're right. Almost all of the time, you're right.

“[Your Name],” he starts, fingers beginning to fidget, “we have our reasons for doing what we did...”

“Well, that doesn't change the fact that I thought I could trust you!” You yell and take a pillow, hitting him with it. It may seem childish, but you'd never dare to physically hit any of them, especially if it's because of your emotions. One thing you've learned, is that, doing things because of your emotions can be dangerous. It can go for anyone; weak or strong.

“[Your Name]— Please, just listen!” Even as Obito raises his voice, you don't stop attacking him with the pillow, tears clouding your vision.

“Shut up! Shut up! Just, shut up...” Is all you can get out, your movements coming to a stop as Obito takes this opportunity to quickly get the pillow out of your grasp.

Your fingers curl and you choke out a sob, tears leaving your eyes as they roll down your cheeks, quite slowly too. But maybe that's how it always is.

Everything being slow – not literally, of course.

“This all feels like a nightmare...”

“[Your Name], we're all really sorry. Pein is sorry. And, Pein... He was really set on getting you back.” Obito stops to take a little break, before continuing. “You have to appreciate his efforts. Hidan is glad that you're back. He was just about ready to lose it...”

“Just leave. I want to be alone. Go and bother someone else.” You mutter and lay back down, turning your back to him.

“All right,” he says, now Tobi again. “Tobi will leave [Your Name] alone.”

The weight of his body on the bed disappears and you hear soft footsteps getting further and further away before everything is silenced with the door closing.

You allow your body to go limp as more tears leave your eyes.

It's funny.

Being happy as you see him, only for everything to crumble down.

Why is everything like this? I don't remember it being like this, so why...?
