Last chapter:

As if he knows what's happening, he gets up and comes to sit next to me. "Deidara, go ahead and cry. Don't hold it in." My body trembles slightly as I try resisting the urge to cry.

But, of course, in the end...It was a failed attempt.

I still can't seem to understand that I was never meant to fight on my own...

Your P.O.V

Since you've never been a deep, heavy sleeper, even noises that aren't loud are enough to wake you up.

You open your eyes after hearing the room door open and you squint your eyes, hoping to make out the figure. Just before the door closes, you manage to see a figure around your height. Shuffling can be heard as if shoes are being removed, followed by the rustling of a cloak being taken off.

Rolling onto your side, you pull the blankets up higher. You see the figure going over to the desk by the window - which is in between the two beds - and put the cloak down.

The figure's hands reach up to quietly push open the curtains, leaving you to bite your tongue in order to hold back your gasp. It's the new member, and she is really beautiful, no, that's too simple. She's astonishing.

The whole time, you had been thinking it was one of the guys planning to prank you or something, or even cuddle with you, but you seem to be mistaken.

Shifting and opening your eyes more, you watch closely as she sighs, sitting on the bed opposite you, a ray of moonlight shining on her. You take note on how her skin isn't pale and has a light tan to it, giving off a honey skin tone.

Her light brown hair reaching down to her hips as she stands up again, the ray of moonlight giving her body a glow as it shines on the back of her body and hair.

You're too dazed by looking at her, wondering if she's not just a pretty face and actually has strength.

Just as you are about to sit up, unable to pretend to be sleeping for much longer, her mouth opens and she speaks out into the darkness while sitting back down. "This seems like such a nice place and I hope I can fit in. It would be a shame if I don't, and end up on everyone's bad side." She brings her legs up, hugging them close as she rests her cheek on her knees while looking out at the moon.

You smile and close your eyes, casually rolling onto your back before faking a few coughs and sitting up, putting on a pained expression while rubbing your chest.

Having not expected anything, Sayuri jumps a bit in fright, her gaze shooting in your direction.

Sayuri jumps off the bed, running over to you and gently grabbing your shoulder, turning you so she can look at you. However, before she does, you replace your smile with a frown.

"Are... Are you okay?" She asks softly, removing her hand from your shoulder and stepping back. "You were coughing and it didn't really sound good. Are you perhaps sick?" You let out a soft laugh, shaking your head.

"No," you smile, pushing the blankets off your body, Sasori's cloak still on you. "I'm fine." You push yourself off the bed and slowly walk over to her as she stands by the desk. The closer you get, the more panicked she seems. You stand a bit away from her and hold your hand out. "I'm not going to hurt you. I'm [Name]." She nods and slowly reaches her hand out, grasping yours to shake.

"You probably already know, but, I'm Sayuri. It's nice to meet you." You both smile, retracting your hands after letting go.

"I know," you shrug your shoulders, making your way back to your bed. "Welcome to the Akatsuki." You lay down and pull the blankets over yourself once again. You close your eyes and listen to the shuffling of Sayuri getting into bed, laying down.

Just before you both fall asleep for good, you and Sayuri share a word together.

"Goodnight."

Alrighty, I am back. I never updated again because I thought this book wasn't good, so I gave up. But a lovely reader asked if I could please continue with this book and that was all it took to inspire me. So, I thank them.

This chapter, as you can probably already tell, is about meeting the new member, Sayuri. I hope it was good.

I love you, my readers and thank you for taking the time to read this book. I really appreciate it. I promise I won't abandon this book.
