There must be a job that will fit in with my college schedule...
It's been a couple of days now since I've started searching for a part-time job, and as of yet, I haven't been successful.
I don't really want to work straight from college as I'd like to use that time for visiting mum, and if I get in the sports team I'd want to keep that time slot free for any matches or practice I'd need to participate in. So, maybe I could do night shifts? But how would I have enough energy for college in the morning?
I guess I'll just have to figure something out...
English literature is probably the dullest subject at the moment, because we're doing 'class reading'. It's a script for some kind of play, but I wasn't listening enough to remember the name of it.
I stand up to read my part, and notice that most of the girls, instead of following in the script, are watching me. It's rather off-putting.
When my turn's over, I sit down and start scribbling on the corners of the script pages, until it comes to Luke Miller's turn...
I wait for his chair to scrape against floor as he prepares to read, but his name is never called out by the teacher. I search for him behind me; he is there, so why wasn't he told to read?
He was sitting rather sulkily, with his legs extended under the desk and his hands in his pockets. A cap was covering most of his face and it doesn't look like he's looked up once, for the whole duration of the lesson.
Every angle that I looked at him from where I was sat, wouldn't let me see an inch of his face; only shadows.
Almost as soon as the class ended, Luke zipped out of the classroom.
I need to catch up with him.
I pushed through to the door as quickly as I could and chased after Luke, who was already halfway down the corridor.
"Hey?" I pulled on his long-sleeved shirt to get him to slow down, but it ripped.
"Seriously?!" He kept his head turned away.
"I'm sorry Luke, I'll pay for it! I was just trying to get you to slow down a bit, so that I could talk to you." I started to circle Luke and before he managed to look away again, I managed to catch a glimpse of his face.
As far as I could see, his skin was an unusual shade of purple and blue.
"What's the matter Luke? Why does your skin look like that?"
"Get away from me! It's none of your business!!" He grazed his way past students to get to the nearest exit and ran out of the school gates.
There's something seriously wrong.
I told Caz about what happened with Luke through notes that I sent to him across the classroom. It was maths, so he was too far away for me to sign to him.
"What's this?!" Miss Montana usually stayed oblivious to whatever notes I sent to Caspian. "Is no one going to own up? Should I open it to find out?!"
"It's mine." I stood up, slowly.
"Oh," se moved towards me slowly, "I wouldn't expect such a good student to do something so bad... Never mind. I'll need you to stay for a few minutes after class, to talk about your behavior."
I moved back into my seat, and let my head hit the table. Why is this teacher so flipping unpredictable?!
"She's so flipping predictable." Vikkie sneered.
