"Open the door Edward." I could almost feel Luke's low and serious voice resonating through the wooden floor and along the frame of my bed.
Yes, I've been in my room since last night. Yes, I haven't moved from my bed. Yes, I plan on staying here for all eternity. Yes, no one's going to stop me; not even Luke and his rugby fuelled muscles. Okay, maybe I was wrong there...
I felt my feet burn slightly at the friction, as I dragged them so sloppily that I'm almost tripping over them.
"You are alone? Caspian isn't there, is he?"
"I'm on my own, you pathetic noob."
"Okay... I'm opening the door-"
"For goodness sake, just open it." Before I could budge the door half an inch, Luke had already made known his presence as he marched over to my bed and plonked himself down. "Hello. What a beautiful morning it is!"
"Leave. Now."
"I was only joking."
"I'm not in the 'joking' mood."
"You'd think I could work that out on my own."
I glared at him under my furrowed brow, then at the door and back at him again.
"Okay, I went too far. Don't make me leave; I need to talk to you..."
"About what?"
"About Caspian and Lily."
"Ugh... No thanks."
"We need to talk about it, whether you like it or not, and whether I like it or not too. To be honest, I'd also like to know why I'm always the one who has to sort your life out." He waited for me to sit down next to him, which took a while, but I eventually slumped backwards until my back hit the duvet. "Apparently Caspian's been talking to Lily for some time now, which makes sense, but like you, I'm also a little peeved that he didn't tell us."
"Peeved is an understatement."
"For you, not for me."
"Why not?! Firstly, he deliberately went behind our backs to hide this relationship! Secondly, he knows I was interested in her! Third of all, he ignored us both, just so he could message Lily! We have every reason to be mad at him."
"But, you've got to be balanced when looking at things like this. Caspian obviously really likes her and it looks like they're very well-suited for each other. Not to mention, she's the only person, apart from his own family- who actually learnt sign language, just so that she could talk to him. Those two fell in the love pool because they got to know each other. We've already talked about this, but you and Lily did not get to know each other. For some reason, you took that for granted. You just thought she was cute; you don't know the first thing about her."
"Pfft."I picked up one of my pillows and hugged it to my chest.
"I'm being serious here. You liked her because she was pretty and played the piano, but you didn't even bother texting her when she showed interest in you."
"... Did I really do that? But, wouldn't it be better if I didn't abandon my friends, like Cadpian did with us?"
"You wouldn't be abandoning anything, but for love, you do have to make sacrifices, otherwise it isn't real love." Luke cringed.
"Are they both... Happy?"
"Yes, I believe so."
"Oh... and Luke?"
