Chapter 19
"Are you nervous?" I asked. Louis shook his head, "Of course not."
"Mhmm. Sure." I chuckled. "Alright, maybe just a little."
I smiled at him, reaching for his hand. "Don't worry. She's not that scary. Just maybe just at first."
Paul was driving. We had got to Los Angeles a little while go. Now we were on our way to my mom's.
"So you live near the beach yeah?" Niall asked. "Yeah. Maybe we can go down there later."
"So this is it?" Paul asked, pulling into the driveway. "Yes! I'm so excited to see her." I said.
Louis smiled, and I could see my mom walking out the front door.
"Mom!" I shouted, rolling down the window. "Emily!"
Once Paul parked the car, I quickly ran out, embracing my mother in a hug. "I missed you!" She said, squeezing me tightly. After a second she finally let go, allowing me to breathe. I introduced everyone including Louis. She hugged him too, and everything seemed to be going well.
Niall, Liam and Zayn took off but Harry and Hanna stayed. We were all inside now, talking and laughing in the living room until my mom got up to go to the kitchen.
"I'm going to start bringing the dinner stuff out. You guys can watch television." Mom called out.
"Get crazy! Get loud!" Harry sang.
"Harry! Take Jersey Shore off please!" Louis and I groaned. "What? There's nothing else to watch!"
"Harry you dope." Louis groaned.
"Okay, okay. Oh look! Grease is on, but it's the ending scene."
Louis smiled, putting his arm around me. "I haven't seen that movie in ages." I said.
"It's one of my favorites, you know that." Louis replied. "You were in a play once, weren't you? You were Danny?"
"The best Danny Zuko you'd ever seen." He winked. I laughed, "Of course!"
"I'm kidding." He said.
"So Ms.Solis, what're we having?" Harry asked. "I was thinking roasted chicken, veggies and mashed potatoes. Sound good?" She replied. "Mm. A home cooked meal." Harry said.
"Sounds excellent. Do you need any help in thekitchen?" I asked.
Louis and Hanna were in the kitchen with me as I helped my mom get dinner ready.
Louis was peeling potatoes, as Hanna (microwave everything Hanna) was given the simple task of boiling a pot of water.
"Ay look guys! I think I may not be bad at the whole cooking thing!" She grinned.
"You're boiling water Hanna." I chuckled. She narrowed her eyes at me, turning the other way to set the temperature.
"How are those potatoes going, Lou? Can I call you Lou?" My mother asked.
Louis had a smile on his face, and nodded. "Of course you can! You could call me striped boy with red pants if you wanted."
Mom let out a laugh. I think she liked how charasmatic and funny he was. Louis finished peeling the potatoes, and we let Hanna slowly drop them into the pot but she still managed to burn herself.
She should really stick to microwavable macaroni and cheese.
The chicken was almost ready. The entire house smelled devine. I missed these smells. As much as I loved London and being able to get away, I don't think anything would be able to replace the feeling of getting to be home. The warmth and feeling of being back felt nice. I know it's only been two months, but still- I missed it.
