Jayceon's POV:"Thank you." Princess said looking at her ceiling not making eye contact. I looked at her digital clock on the wall as it changed the time putting it to 9:58.
"For what?"
"Being here. I appreciate it, I know you could be doing so many other things but you're here with me, and thank you for taking me to see my dad, and his hideout.
"Princess you don't need to thank me. Regardless of anything I got you, and I knew you needed to see certain things, because you finally admitted you know it's not your time yet, and that you have to wait for it to be for you to be with him."
A smile developed on her face, and I focused on the dark circles under her eyes. Apart of me felt like this was my fault. If I didn't leave her, it would have not been this bad for her. I would have helped her deal with it, and she wouldn't be depending on alcohol.
"You should get some sleep."
"I'm not tired" she said. Years ago Princess, and I we're less mature than we were now. I wasn't going to have a whole argument with her to try to get her to sleep. I let it go, hearing my phone vibrate on her nightstand.
Picking it up I saw a text from Bianca.
Babygirl: where you at? -10:02
Me: Chillin w a friend, wassup? - 10:02
Babygirl: what friend? - 10:03
I knew she was probably use to being in my business after all this time, but as funny as it seems I was still use to having someone else involved in everything I do if that wasn't Princess.
"Want something from the kitchen?" Princess asked breaking me out of my thoughts. I shook my head no, as she walked slowly out the room. I knew she was drained.
Hearing glasses clink, I jump from out the bed heading to the kitchen seeing her opening a new bottle of red wine. Before she could even pour it in her cup, I snatched it out of her hand, going to the sink pouring it out.
"Jay stop!"
"Nah P. This isn't how it's going to go down. I'm here, you're done with this bull shit. It's okay to drink from time to time, but drinking to solve your problem isn't it. You're killing yourself slowly."
"Oh don't come at me with that bull shit! You're the one selling drugs that are killing people faster than cancer!" She was trying to switch this on me, and I had to laugh lowly shocked that she flipped it on me.
"Princess since you were born you witnessed a man do what he needed to do to provide for himself, and his family. I took over, and yes I sell drugs to people who will get it somewhere else if they don't get it from me! But I'm doing something good with my dirt, I have a partnership with a business, and when everything is finalized, and money starts flowing more, and more, I'm quitting. I have seen addicts everyday who are too far gone, on this shit. You can stop!" I said with my voice breaking a little.
This subject was touchy for me because my grandpa who was my only father figure died from liver damage, from which he got from drinking. I knew how it felt to watch someone die because of this, and I didn't want the same for her.
"Now take this, go in the room, and lay the fuck down!"
Pouting she grabbed the water bottle I had gotten from the fridge, and went back in her room. Going through all her cabinets I poured out every alcoholic beverage I saw. Tequila, white wine, I shook my head when I saw bourbon, and Bacardi.
She didn't even have henny, but was downing down bottles of nasty ass shit.
Going back in the room, she immediately apologized to me, making me shrug it off not caring to hear it.
