Less Hostility

"What do you want again?" I grunted in annoyance. My eyebrows furrowed deeply, feeling completely fed-up because of him. He sighed, massaging his temples as he stared at me intently.

"Take me with you." He answered after a few minutes of complete silence. I raised an eyebrow at his words, not entirely convinced at all.

Anyways, I was too tired to fight with him everytime we see each other. My fingers began searching for my keys before I shrugged my shoulders nonchalantly.

"Suits yourself."

Upon reaching the destination, I killed the ignition, throwing my head back as I swiftly removed my helmet like I have done it a hundred times. I swept my hair to the back as I checked my reflection from the rear mirror.

My eyes wondered around the vicinity to find that his car was not present. Was this some kind of joke or what?

Knowing that it was redundant waiting for him, I turned towards the direction of the forests when I heard that annoying endearment ringing in my ears. "Babe, wait."

Without stopping to wait for him, I began jogging into the forests before shifting into my wolf, letting myself watch by the sidelines as Ace took control.

Yet, I had a gut feeling that this would not turn out well.

Ace yipped in joy, letting out a loud howl before another howl soon followed. I watched by the sidelines as Ace played with her mate, Jarred.

I watched as their snout nuzzled each other's playfully before Ace was flipped over by Jarred. Jarred continued licking Ace everywhere no matter how much she struggled from his licks. What a tease.

At this moment, I felt a pang in my heart. I could have enjoyed a life like this; to be with my love. If only the past could have been rewritten, I would have accepted him as my mate.

But I can't seem to find my way out of this carefully, created maze. It was like being trapped in it with no escape.

I felt my wolf calling me to wake up before I felt myself shifting back. Realisation dawned on me that I was nude, making me cover my body away from him.

My eyes widened when his eyes darkened in lust. Yet, I felt a sense of attraction like he was pulling me deeper with him. I watched as he leaned in with every step he took in a cautious manner.

Before long, I felt my eyelids blinking rapidly as his lips made contact with mine. It was like fireworks erupting between us, making me feel alive.

I felt my fingers tugged on his hair as I deepened the kiss. Our lips moved in sync before he bit on my bottom lips until it grew swollen. I let out a gasp, parting my lips while his tongue slipped into my mouth.

It began manually exploring all corners of my mouth before it caressed my tongue. Soon, our tongues were fighting for dominance as he kissed, sucked my bottom lips.

His hands slowly travelled down my sides until his hands grabbed onto my butt, making me recall it again. As if on cue, I pulled away from him.

Instinctively, I covered my body from him, looking away as a few drop of tears spilled from the corner of my eyes. I felt the back of my head tilted to face him as his eyes softened at the sight. "Why are you crying? Tell me, babe." He asked in concern.

I kept my lips sealed, not daring to speak another word about that incident. Knowing that I wouldn't say anything, he sighed as he cradled me in his arms.

I felt myself lifted up in bridal style with my arms hanging around his neck loosely. He walked for god knows how long before I felt a soft material covering my body.

I looked up one last time as he held me tightly towards him before I felt my eyelids shut tightly.

I woke up to find myself clutching onto navy blue duvets before I sat up, the back of my hands wiping away the sweat trickling down my forehead. The scene replayed again last night, bringing back the haunting nightmares.

My eyes wandered around the room I was in before realisation dawned on me that I was in an unfamiliar room. Where was I?

The door was flung opened to reveal Nathaniel walking into the room with a tray of food. Breakfast?

His lips curled as soon as he noticed me awake before he set the tray on the nightstand right beside the four-posture bed.

"Have some breakfast babe. I will send my men to your shared apartment to retrieve some of your stuffs while you stay here." He answered, sitting down on the edge of the bed, tucking strands of hair behind my ears.

I felt my mouth was left agape as I registered what he had said. "I didn't say I was staying here." I corrected, clutching on the duvets tightly as I gritted my teeth. "And there's no point in collecting my stuff anyway." I added, looking away as I mentally cringed at my words.

Elena.

I felt a hand on the back of my head as it tilted my head to face him. "What happened? Mind telling me about it, babe?" His husky voice ringed in my ears as he stared at me intently.

I sighed, knowing that I couldn't be possibly pushing him away.

"I left home." Was all I said before my lips were sealed tightly like a glue. Trust would always be an issue to me and I can't help but to bottle up my feelings or vent my frustrations instead of confiding someone.

Sighing, I stood up, turning to head to the bathroom when a hand was grasped onto my wrist. "Stay with me." His words stopping me dead in my tracks.
