The Truth
I pulled up by the outskirts of the city where I would normally go when I felt troubled. Compared to the past, my habit of smoking had decreased because this place could somehow make me forget the past temporarily.
I glanced at our interlocked fingers and smiled at him as the evening breeze blew past us. I continued to lead him until we reached the end of an extended bridge which overlooked the sea.
Seeing a wooden bench by the side, he sat down on it and pulled me onto his laps. I gasped at his actions but slowly recovered as I felt tingles at the touch.
If I was going to stay with him, I would have to put up with these stupid tingles. "Of course, you should." Ace nodded readily at me words, making me inwardly groan.
"Is this the place which you wanted to show me?" He asked, wrapping his arms around my waist as he pulled me closer to his chest.
I nodded. My lips quivered as I took in a deep breathe before I started.
"Whenever the nightmare comes back, I will come here. The nightmare consists of my step-dad who raped me when I was in high school." At my words, I felt him wrapping me even closer to him as I sighed.
"My mom never believed what I said but after the rape happened, she finally believed me. By then, it was already too late. I have lost trust in those I had once loved and no longer bothered to talk to others or let others enter my world. After the rape, I often got into fights because they despised me for having no dad." I felt a tear slide down my cheek at the thought of my father.
"He was a horrible father. He committed sins and was sentenced to death. My mom and I were demoted to Omegas and never lived a good life ever since. I hated him a lot. If he had never committed those sins, my mom and I wouldn't be demoted. My mom would not have remarried. My step-dad, third-in-command of the pack wouldn't have gotten the chance to rape me."
"And if you weren't raped, you would have long accepted me as your mate, isn't it?" He asked, making me turn my head as I stared hard into his eyes, into his soul. "I am sorry." I mumbled, noticing hurt flashed across his eyes.
He felt hurt, not because of me but for my past. The mate bond enabled us to feel each other's pain, and he too, could feel mine.
He leaned his forehead against mine as his breath mingled with mine. "I am sorry but for being such a terrible mate and not knowing the truth. If I had known, I would have taken actions and killed that man. I am sorry for-" I cut him off without hesitation as I crashed my lips against his.
Fireworks erupted between us rapidly as our lips moved in sync. I wrapped my arms around his neck as our breath mingled with each other. This kiss was slowly and steady while his hands grabbed on my sides as he gently trailed kisses from my jaws to my neck.
His teeth nipped on the sensitive spot, making me moan aloud. I instantly regretted it when I felt his canines growing. He wanted to mark me. But, was I ready?
"Babe, it won't hurt too much. Once I have marked you, our mate bond will grow even stronger. Just let me into your world." I could feel him struggling with his wolf before his canines sunk into my skin.
I gasped at the pain and gritted my teeth as I felt the pain slowly turning into pleasure. He licked the blood away and trailed kisses from my neck back up to my jaws. He claimed my lips once more as I pulled him even closer to me.
He literally moaned when the erection of my nipples tickled his chest. He must have felt it. Yet, he still continued with the kiss while his hands lingered on my jacket as he pulled it down.
His hands moved up and down on my arms before it stayed on my shoulders where it was easy to pull down the strap of my blouse. He was one more step in completing the mate bond with me. However, I wasn't ready.
I quickly pulled away and wore my jacket as I stood up. I looked away while my hand moved to my neck where the mark was. Touching it gave me tingles, but I wasn't ready for mating yet.
He wrapped his arms around my waist as he pulled me close to his chest. "I am sorry. I was too anxious. I should have given you time to-" I cut him off with my index finger pressed against his lips.
"It's alright. I just needed time." As I said this, I leaned in and pecked on his lips as I stifled a yawn. "You are tired, babe. Let's head home." And with that, he picked me up in his arms and slowly walked.
I looked at the skies once more as it brought back memories when I would frequently come here. Now, the only way to make myself forget about the past was my mate.
He will be the shoulder for me to lean on. He will be there by my side whenever I need him.

I stared at the gruesome sight in front of me. Today was the execution day of Alpha Beckham and Christina. I stood beside Nathaniel with the elders of the pack as they gathered to witness the scene.
The executioners stood behind them as the guns were pointed on their heads. Nathaniel stood up like a true leader and nonchalantly asked, "Any last words?"
Christina glared at me even though she was in a bloodied mess. I don't get it. Why was she so persistent until now?
I stepped up and moved closer to Christina until I was a few inches away from her. "Why do you hate me?" I asked, purely out of curiosity.
She laughed at my words. An evil laughter.
"Nathaniel was mine to begin with. I saw him first and instantly wanted him to be mine. But, you appeared and stole him. You stole him away from me." She gritted her teeth as tears rolled down her cheeks.
"It wasn't me. It was the mate bond. Both of you weren't meant to be together. If you want to blame, you should blame the moon goddess." I finished, standing up as I turned around.
"Live happily together." She murmured as blood spat out. I raised an eyebrow at her words, not entirely convinced. "What?" She glanced up at me once more as the executioner pulled the trigger.
She blinked a few times as she stared between Nathaniel and me before she dropped to the ground, her eyes closed. It meant that she had no regrets. And, she meant what she had said.
I closed my eyes and silently prayed for her to lead a better life in the afterlife.
I turned back to Nathaniel and was engulfed into a hug. "It's alright. It is all over." He said, making me nod. Christina wasn't a bad person. She just loved Nathaniel too much.
And, love turned her into a person filled with hatred when she didn't get what she wants.
A/N _ If you are going to ask, is this the end? Nope! I have an epilogue coming up.
