Friends? No.

"Look, Shelly..." She trailed off, looking elsewhere but me. I held up a hand before she could even speak, my lips parted as my eyebrows furrowed deeply. "Enough Elena." I sighed.

"Dion tries to get under my pants. And you, as my closest friend on Earth, "supported" the fact that I should hook up with Dion. If not for Nathaniel, I would be already f*cked by Dion with no one knowing." I blurted in a fit of anger, not caring if my words hurt her feelings.

"And it would be all your fault for setting us up." I dabbed my index finger towards her repeatedly. I could feel Ace trying to shift as my face twitched in anger.

I hardened my heart, totally devastated for the fact that I had hurled such hurtful remarks to my dearest friend. But at this point in time, I could care any less.

Immediately, I masked my emotions, keeping a straight face as I lifted my arms. My index finger pointed towards the door as her eyes shifted to where I pointed.

Getting the idea that it was my way of asking her to leave, she nodded before leaving the room in nothing but guilt. She deserved to feel that way for what she had done.

I had made a mental note that she would be in a deep trouble once I get away from Dion unscathed and returned home. And, I always keep my word.

And since this whole thing was related to Dion, I would have to find a way to get back at him for what he almost did. I will make sure that I would punish him until he wouldn't be able to see the light again.

I leant against the wall of the classroom, waiting for his chemistry lesson to end. A moment later, a herd of monkeys began rushing out of the classroom with Dion being crowded by a group of guys - most probably a mix of his to-be high ranking werewolves.

I hollered his name, making his head snap towards my direction. A moment after registering what had happened, a smirk made its way to his lips.

That smirk was enough to make me rush forward and grab him by his collars. I was forcefully pried off him by his men before my hands were locked to the back.

I looked towards my right and left before contemplating my next move. I lifted my leg and swiftly kicked the guy on my right in his knees, making him clutch it as he groaned.

Tightening my right fist, I sent a punch towards the jaws of the guy on my left before shoving him towards the wall. In a split second, he fell onto the ground.

As I was about to march towards Dion, an arm draped itself around my waist, calming myself down immediately. Without having to know who it was, I grunted in annoyance as he had spoilt my plan.

However, he suddenly had the situation under control - with his men doing the job which I had been wanting to do. I watched with my eyes wide as two guys locked each of his arms with a blonde-haired fellow punching him in three specific areas; the jaws, the stomach and his nose.

I held my laughter at his horrified expression as he was beaten to a pulp. It was like spectating a match between professional wrestlers - that was how interesting it was.

Before the blonde-haired could let him go, I watched as he cleared his throat, his eyes growing darker as every second passed. His men dragged him towards us, giving him a simple nod.

With his left hand, he grabbed him by the collars, sending him a deathly glare. "Touch my woman again and I won't hesitate to send an invitation for war. I am sure you wouldn't want to anger our pack." He growled in anger before dropping him to his feet.

I watched as his timid figure scurried out of the campus, never looking back. Serves him right.

My waist suddenly felt numb before noticing that he had his right fist clenched tightly as it tugged on the hem of my shirt. Was it out of anger or nervousness?

I sighed, wordlessly prying his arm away from my waist. This time, I had no energy in slapping him or arguing with him about the whole mate thing.

One word to describe about me; tired.

"Are you alright, babe?" He asked, looking into my eyes deeply, in concern. His fingers brushed past my cheeks as he watched as I wetted my lips.

Instinctively, I pulled away from him. For like the millionth time of the year, Ace whimpered again.

"For god sake, no one asked you to help me. And I certainly didn't ask for your help, so stop trying to be the hero and save me in situations like this." I snarled in annoyance. "Before you entered my life, I had to deal with such situations, alone." I rolled my eyes in frustrations, totally tired of him.

There was a complete silence as we stared at each other. I waited as his lips parted before he grunted in response. "No matter what happens, I won't leave you alone." He emphasized his point before leaving with his men.

I huffed, hoisting my bag over my shoulders as I walked away.

Don't he get it? I don't need him, at all. Why can't he just leave me alone?

***
I inwardly groaned at Elena's repeated pleas as she tried to keep me from leaving. I had already rented a small apartment located in the outskirts of the city, even making the effort to let the campus know of my updated address in case they sent important mails to my old address.

This would mean that Nathaniel would have a way to find out about my new address. I don't care anyways.

"Please stay, Shelly. I am sorry, its all my fault." She pleaded, clamping her palms together as she stared into my eyes. I knew it hurts but I had enough of everything.

Living in the outskirts of the city wouldn't be that bad.

I ignored her repeated pleas, hoisting my duffle bag over my shoulders as I exited the apartment. I remembered to leave my set of keys behind before leaving.

With a depressed sigh, I continued walking until I reached the parking lot when an arm stopped me. I looked up, a sigh escaping from my lips.

Nathaniel.
