Expected Attack

With Elena visiting me 3 hours each day, I don't feel bored at all. In fact, my heat had signs of improvement and it was no longer too unbearable for me to bear. And with a blink of an eye, it has been a week.

I heard keys from the other side of the door and before I knew it, the nurse entered the room with a tray in her hands. "I see you are getting better now. Here's a last meal before you are released from here for good." She smiled sweetly, this time handing me the tray.

Before she could leave, she froze in her tracks for a moment before giving me a solemn look as she leaned in to whisper. "The Luna has just instructed me to tell you that you should start packing and leave. It is dangerous for you to stay here any longer."

And with that, she left, not before exchanging a few words with the guard.

I sighed as I looked at the tray. My last meal before I leave this place for good. After today, where should I go? To the human world where they would least expect?

Yet, it made me sound like a coward.

I began eating as the previous vomit feeling had disappeared. Now, I could eat a good meal without worrying that I would have to run to the toilet bowl and puke out all the contents for five minutes. And, I wouldn't have to worry the burning sensation stuck against my skin, making me run to the bathroom to shower.

I smell freedom now.

But, not quite. With the incoming war and wanting me dead.

I rolled my eyes. What's wrong with Christina that she had to wage a war against Nathaniel's pack and want me dead? I don't understand at all. Since Nathaniel doesn't want her, shouldn't she forget about him and move on?

She sounded just like a selfish brat who cared only about herself. Not caring if her selfishness would lead to deaths and bloodshed. If that was what she wanted, I won't run away to hide myself and watch her ruin their lives.

They don't deserve to sacrifice their lives because of her selfishness.

I had enough. I won't let her get what she wants.

Standing up, I rushed to the bathroom to clean up before packing my duffle bag. I knocked on the door to get the guard's attention as she dug the key into the keyhole and opened the door for me.

"Goodbye." Was all she said before she walked off.

I took out the map and followed the path to the red Porsche. The Luna said to used it when I needed it. Though it wasn't for an emergency, but I had to go to a place to seek help.

Once I had reached the basement, I found the red Porsche and quickly got in as I started the ignition. As I began driving out to the driveway, I felt a presence behind me.

Looking through the rear mirror, a black SUV was tailing behind me.

Finding it suspicious, the Luna's words came into my mind. "Because there is a mole in this building..." My eyes widened. I must have gotten out of the building earlier than the attack that was taking place and the person who last saw me must have been the mole.

It couldn't be the nurse. She was the one who had relayed Luna's instructions. The female guard? She was the only one besides the nurse who could get close to me.

I felt my adrenaline rushed at the thought. Darn it, it must be her. She was the mole all along.

The soles of my boot pressed against the accelerator as I increased the speed. Swerving through the dense forests, I weaved my way round and about until I reached the human traffic.

This would be a good chance to let her lose sight of me.

I pressed on the accelerator and shifted the gear as I weaved my way from one car to the next ahead of me. I took the road where there were many cars so as to get away from her easily.

With one last push, I weaved my way across the cars. It wasn't until when I had spotted an exit from the left which headed to my old pack when I decided to go ahead. I would do anything to let her lose me.

I turned the car, such that it shifted to the left and looked at the rear mirror to see her driving straight. I released a sigh before following the path which leads to my old pack.

The images of my 'step-dad' raping me made me cringe slightly. However, for the sake of Nathaniel, I had to face this. I had to face my past. This was the only way to seek help for the war against Rihawth Pack.

My phone rang as I picked it up and answered. It was from Elena.

"Shelly, Nathaniel had killed his father and had taken over his father's position. He is now the Alpha. He has instructed me to tell you to use the position, Luna of Gazelle Pack, should you face any danger. Other packs would help to get you to safety." I nodded at her words as I stared ahead solemnly.

"Understood." And with that, I hung up the call and released a sigh.

I don't need other packs to protect me. I just need their manpower to defeat Rihawth Pack. And the only way was to return to my old pack and seek help.

Opening up the mind-link which I had not used for ages, I contacted my mother. 'Mom, are you there?'

'Oh honey, you finally contacted me. Do you know how much I-' I cut her off without thinking. 'I don't have time to get all lovey-dovey with you. Just tell me if Alpha Wayne is in the pack now.'

'Yes, honey. He is here. But he is no longer the Alpha. His son, Jace had taken over his father a year ago.' I heaved a sigh of relief. Jace was once my best friend. He would be able to help me, unless I force him with my position.

And with that, I cut off the mind-link and continued driving until I reached a clearing where the patrol border werewolves started emerging from the bushes.

One of them looked at me and immediately recognised me. They quickly stepped aside and let me pass after the blonde-haired froze in his tracks for a moment. He must have mind-linked Jace.

Based on his character, he would have let me in.

I nodded and continued driving deeper until I reached the pack house. Pulling up by the front, I quickly killed the ignition and got out as some of the pack members, especially those who had bullied me in the past, stared at me in awe.

It has been years since I had stepped into the grounds of my old pack. Yet, the thought of facing my 'step-dad' scared me. Just as I was about to enter the pack house, the devil appeared in front of me.

I gulped, this wasn't going to be good.
