ONLY YOU - Donghua and Fengjiu [Fanfiction]

Part 1 - Queen of Qing Qui

Bai Fengjiu has been Queen of Qing Qui for the past Three Years. She has been grateful to the Fox Clan and have been working hard over the years to fulfill her position as Queen.  She has earned the respect of her Clan and has matured a lot. Over the past few years, she has busied herself months on end with little sleep to deal with Clan matters but there is not a day that passes by where she does not think of Donghua Dijun. 

Fengjiu has not been to the Heavens since becoming Queen but every once in a while, Si Ming would update her on the latest gossip and update on Dijun's update tasks, quests and health. Initially, Si Ming (God of Love and Fate in the Mortal Realm) thought that after Fengjiu knew the truth about the Rock of Three Lives Incarnation, she would have moved on by now and let go of Dijun but she never did. Her love for him ran too deep - she was bound to him with every ounce of her body and soul. He felt sorry for his friend, he knew how much she had tried for Dijun but it was all in vain... Dijun's heart was indeed cold as ice. 

Fengjiu always knew that she could never forget Dijun, no matter how distant and cold he was to her and no matter what he said to her - she knew deep down that he felt something for her too. Her Aunt (Bai Qian - former Queen of Qing Qiu) once said, when a member of the Fox Clan finds their soul mate, the person they fall deeply in love with, they can never let go and this was all too true for Fengjiu. Her heart has and will always belong to Donghua Dijun. 

Fengjiu's Aunt and Ye Hua's (Crown Prince of the Heavens) Wedding was finally approaching - a matrimony arranged and anticipated for decades. Bai Qian has not seen Fengjiu since she moved to the Heavens and requested for her help for the final wedding preparations. Bai Qian knew how stubborn Fengjiu is about Dijun and didn't want Fengjiu to continue to peruse an ill-fated love (she also knew about the Rock of Three Lives Incarnation). Bai Qian wants her niece to be happy and felt it would do her some good to meet a few single male deities similar to her own age, to broaden her horizons and find someone that could give her a future.

Walking up to the Heaven's gate - tears fell down Fengjiu's cheeks. She tried to fight back the tears, of course she knew as Queen she should not show such emotions in public but she was overwhelmed by the memories of that day when Donghua said those words to her... the pain she felt flooded back like it was only yesterday. She could no longer contain the hurt she felt inside.

"... If and I mean if you had not removed your name from the Rock of Three Lives (Incarnation) - would you love me" 

To her disbelief Donghua said "Yes..."  

Fengjiu has never felt such happiness and sadness at the same time. She has loved him from the beginning, ever since he saved her from the lion beast, Fengjiu has always hoped that she would one day be able to affect him with her love and devotion but never in a million years did she think that it would actually happen and that he would be so honest about it.  

But it was bitter sweet, in an instant, all the happiness in the world was taken away from her  when she came to realise that no matter how they felt for one another, or what she did - they could never be together because they are were not fated... 

Even so, Fengjiu never truly wanted to believe this truth, in her heart she still hoped that somehow, something could change but Dijun's mind was made up. His hands were tied, he had no choice but to let go, to tell Fengjiu to leave the Heavens and to forget about him. She was not just any average deity, she was to become Queen of Qingqiu. She had her whole life ahead of her - she deserved to find someone that could give her everything she ever wanted, everything he could never give her - a happy marriage. 

Sometimes fate can be so cruel and love itself just isn't enough.

Dijun knew that if they went against fate then the Heavens and other Realms would suffer and even he the Former Emperor King of the Heavens could not go against fate. He had already experienced the loss of his powers and left the Heavens vulnerable in the time of need - all because he allowed himself to indulge on his desires in the Mortal Realm with Fengjiu for Two Years but he never regretted the Mortal Realm love trial with Fengjiu, he lived thousands of centuries without love, he never understood it until she came into his life but the cost of it was too great. He is not just any deity, he is an impeccable High God - he is Donghua Dijun and with this status carried great burden and responsibilities.  

This meant that Dijun had obligations to the Heavens and could never be truly happy if he could not protect the Realms. He has seen too many Wars and suffering in his life time - he could not let his own selfishness be the cause of pain and disaster within the Realms and so he gave up on his own love. He removed his name thousands of centuries ago from the Rock of Three Lives (Incarnation.) Back then he felt that love was a trivial matter, he did not need it, he has lived long enough without it and was fine on his own but he never imagined that one day, his Jiu'er would come into his life. Had he known that he would one day fall in love with her, he would not have made the same decision all those years ago but whats done is done and he cannot change history. 

All Dijun can do is to hold onto their memories and for her to live her life, he will let her go.

It was not until then, that he truly realised what it meant to really give up on Fengjiu and a chance of real happiness....
