ONLY YOU - Donghua and Fengjiu [Fanfiction]

Part 12 - Heartfelt

Fengjiu is still unconscious and Dijun has not left Fengjiu's side for three days. In order to keep her and her baby nourished, he has been feeding her his blood three times day. Dijun also needed to rest and cultivate, it was no small matter being struck by Heaven's lightning bolts but his only thoughts were to make sure Jiu'er and his baby were safe and well looked after. 

Fengjiu opened her eyes, despite being in a coma for a while, she felt her essence was stronger than ever but she also felt a little queasy at the same time and didn't understand why she had a metal taste in her mouth. She stayed still for a few minutes, letting all the recent incidents wash over her. As she remembered everything, she closed her eyes again and a tear fell down her face.

Dijun watched her intently, he didn't move a muscle, he didn't want to rush her - allowing her to adjust in her own time.

Fengjiu finally sat up and their eyes met. 

She was surprised to see Dijun, she was still hurt. 

Fengjiu:

"Dijun,how long have I been unconscious for?"

Dijun:

"Three days - how do you feel?"

Dijun felt uneasy, he knew that Fengjiu went into her coma before everything happened and needed to be cautious with her.

Fengjiu:

"Upset - why are you here? When did you get to the Western Sea? Where is your precious Zhi Yue??" 

As she recalled Zhi Yue kissing Dijun, she turned away and she couldn't look at him.

Dijun:

*Sigh* He read her thoughts...everything else was so insignificant. He needed to make things right with Fengjiu. 

"Jiu're, you know I would never intentionally do anything to hurt you."

He sat down on the side of the bed, slowly lifted her chin so their eyes met again and stroked her face with his finger. Her eyes watered, she was always so easily affected by Dijun - it was his slight touch, his warmth and tenderness. It wasn't fair. She wanted to believe him but she needed to know what happened, nothing made sense. 

Dijun watched her, to him, Fengjiu was beautiful, even now, with her messy hair, sad eyes and freshly awoken face - she was still breathtaking. She wasn't like the others, there was no comparison. Her love is so pure and untainted. Even after everything she's been through, all her thoughts still revolved around him and him only. His heart clenched - he was so blessed to have her.

He looked into Fengjiu's eyes and said with absolute sincerity:

"Jiu,er, I am so sorry I wasn't there to protect you when the Demon tortured you. You must have been so scared, I am sorry I couldn't take the pain away and I am so sorry I never get to you in time. It seems like I am always a step behind, always too late - I failed you. Please please please forgive me."

Fengjiu has never seen Dijun so sad before. She knew he was troubled by everything that has happened recently as well. In truth she never blamed him for that, how could she expect him to show up every time she was in danger or needed him but she's tired from everything she's had to endure. 

"I know, it's not your fault that we are ill-fated Dijun..."

Dijun:

"You still don't forgive me Jiu'er? That night in the Mortal Realm, Zhi Yue drugged me, I was unconscious - I would never be tempted by another. You are all I ever want and need. She has been punished for her actions. When it comes to you; everyone else is inconsequential"

Fengjiu was shocked - she always knew that Zhi Yue had feelings for Dijun but she never thought that she would go this far and do something so despicable. Fengjiu had wronged Dijun. It was her own fault, she should never have doubted him.

"Donghua, will it always be like this? You are so incredible, there will always be another Zhi Yue and Jiheng. What am I to you. I... I don't ever want to give up but why is destiny so cruel, it is always trying to keep us apart."

"Jiu'er - I promise you now and until the end of time, it will only ever be you."

He needed to prove to her.

He held her hands and got down on both knees.

Fengjiu was disorientated, she didn't understand what he was doing, her eyes nearly popped out of her head when she saw Donghua Dijun kneeling in front of her!! She has seen thousands and thousands of deities bow down to Dijun but never has she ever seen or heard of Donghua Dijun kneeling down to anyone, not even the current Heavenly Emperor but now he is kneeling before her!!

"Donghua what are you doing?? Please get get up" 

Fengjiu felt his heartfelt apology, she had already forgiven him but he didn't move. 

He began:

"Jiu'er,

I can tell by the look in your eyes that you have been hurting and I am the cause of it all but I will never let you down again. You should know by now how I truly feel about you, even when I do not always say it, you know deep down that I have always loved you and I hope this feeling never ends.

You gave me time to understand my own feelings, to learn how to love and care. In your heart - you have everything that I have been searching for, with you - I am home.

I see things clearly now, all the heartache, everything we have been through has made my love grow stronger. Now and forever, I will be yours.

Jiu'er - Marry me"

Fengjiu felt dizzy - she couldn't believe what was happening in front of her eyes. Did she just hear her right??? 

Donghua Dijun has just asked her to Marry her! She was so choked up, happy tears flooded her eyes. She whispered "Yes"

Dijun got up and held her tightly, she rested her head on his chest. She was over the moon - so happy but she didn't understand how they could get married if they were ill-fated, what changed? She looked up at Dijun and he had the biggest smile on his face. She has never seen him like this before, he was so handsome when he smiled. She wanted to capture this moment, this look for eternity. She was amazed that she could affect him so. 

Dijun read Fengjiu's thoughts and explained everything to her from how they moved Heaven by their love and changed fate - they are now entwined to one another to how she also ascended to High Goddess status. 

Fengjiu couldn't believe it - she was elated! There was so much to take in! She couldn't believe all this happened when she was knocked unconscious.  She looked down and felt the magnificent aura glowing off her body.

It was true - she was astounded and impressed at the same time. 

Now that Fengjiu has agreed to marry him, Dijun had one last important detail to tell her. He stroked her cheek and kissed her forehead and she relaxed instantly. He now has her undivided attention again. 

"Jiu'er... there's one more thing. We are going to have a baby, you are with child"
