Part 5 - Heaven - Heart to Heart

[PLEASE READ PART 4 FIRST - FOR SOME REASON PART 4 IS BELOW PART 5!!!!]

Fengjiu climbed on top of Dijun and changed back into her human form. Dijun was startled but acted as calm as ever, he unhurriedly moved Fengjiu off him and put her down onto his bed.

Dijun - "Fengjiu what are you doing? You are Queen of Qing Qiu - don't you feel embarrassed coming into my chambers in the middle of the night?"

Fengjiu - "No - Dijun to me you are still my husband and there is nothing wrong for a wife seeing her husband."

Dijun - "That was a mortal trial only, we are not married Fengjiu, you cannot act like this. You need to let go of all of this and protect your status as Queen. Hmmm? Have you been drinking?"

Fengjiu - "I had a few... but I am very aware. Don't change the subject, I came to ask you something; You said you are not fated to anyone then why have you fallen for Jiheng? Is it true? Dijun - why are you doing this to me? Why her?"

Dijun was frustrated with Fengjiu but his expression softened when he saw Fengjiu's tears - he wanted to wipe away her tears but he couldn't. He didn't went her to be sad.

Dijun - "No I have not fallen for Jiheng, how absurd. Don't listen to idle gossip. Now that I have answered your question, you can leave now. Promise me Fengjiu, not to act so irrationally again."

Fengjiu gazed at Dijun, he doesn't have feelings for Jiheng? Does this mean he could still have feelings for me?

The alcohol gave her confidence, it was now or never. She may not get another chance to say what she really wanted to so she reached for Dijun, her arms snaked around his neck so effortlessly like they belonged there and her head rested on his strong chest. She felt safe like she was home again. He was shocked at the display of intimacy of her sudden actions but he didn't move or push her away. It has been years since he has felt her warmth and skin on him. How could he not want this closeness but he couldn't let his own desires take over him again. He needed to restrain himself and luckily he has had many years of practice and is very good at self control.

Dijun - "Fengjiu, don't be like this. You know you can't act like this, we are ill-fated"

Fengjiu - "Dijun, you don't want me...?"

Fengjiu looks away and stifles a sob - she's hurt and afraid of Dijun's reply. She tightens her grip around Dijun's neck, her eyes tightly shut waiting for his answer.

Dijun knew there was no point in lying to her, knowing her personality, she will not let go and will persist until she knew the truth.

Dijun - Fengjiu - what I said to you at the Heaven's gate three years ago has not changed but we are not destined to be together.
