Maya's Nightmare

Maya's POV
I woke up the next morning, Riley's head on my chest. I thought of how things wouldn't be the same if we didn't know each other...

Maya woke up. Her mom left a note. "Dear Maya, I'm sorry but I have to go to work." Maya gets up, gets dressed, then goes to get some breakfast before going to school. She had flashbacks to her dream last night. "No! Please stop!" Maya yelled. Her dad slapped her so hard that there was a red mark. "Please no!" Katie yelled, pushed Maya's father away from Maya, "She's just a little girl. Please don't hurt my little girl."  "That's what you're trying to do, keep our little girl alway from me?! After all I've done for you!" Maya's dad yelled, heading towards Katie. He slammed her to the ground. He then got on top of her, grabbed her hands and nailed her down. "I did all these things for you!" He yelled and slapped her. "I bought you a house..." slapped her again. "We had Maya, a ray of sun shine, but I guess she's a slut just like her mother!" Slapped her another time. He got off of Katie who is trying to breathe with all the pain she is having. He walked towards Maya. "You. I thought you were going to be like me!..." he yelled, Katie whispered, "thank god she isn't." "What did you say?!" He yelled and kicked Katie in the leg. "N..n..nothing." Katie muttered. "Tell me!" He kicked her in the stomach. "I'M GLAD SHE DIDN'T END UP LIKE YOU!" Katie yelled. "Oh Katie..." he said, placing his hands on Katie's face, "I thought when I gave you my everything you'd be better."
"You didn't give me anything. You just wish you did." Katie said with a demanding voice. Maya's dad took her by her shirt collar and slammed her to the ground once again. He glanced back at Maya, a scared 5 year old who's now trembling. "Maya... Maya.. Maya." He started again, "You May look like your mom, but I know some day you'll be better."  He placed his hand on Maya's shoulder. "Katie's gonna get rid of me.. but we won't let her, will we?" He said, covering Maya's mouth. "Mmm mmm." Maya said, struggling. "I didn't think so." He replied. Maya struggled and kicked around, but her father just walked away. "Trying to hurt me? I don't think you can sweetie. I'm your father!"

Maya woke up after hearing her father yell those last words. She sighs. "Another bad dream I see." Katie says, opening the door, "Don't worry Maya, your dad isn't gonna hurt you. You're with me."
