Tough Call

Riley's POV
Maya told me about the dream she had last night. I felt sorry for her, but she told me she's okay and that it's gonna be okay. We walked to the park hand and hand. I took her to see the little concert they have there once every year. I thought it would be fun, and since it lasts til 12, I thought it would be romantic. When we got there, the band was setting up their microphone and equipment. Maya opened the gate for me and we went to sit in the front. I waved at the bands lead singer and he smiled at me.

Maya's POV
When the singer smiled at Riley I began a little nervous and somewhat jealous. He looks about our age with brownish hair and blue eyes. I didn't know this band, but it did seem like Riley knew them. Riley looked at me and saw that I was getting a jealous look on my face. Her thumbs then rubbed my hand to assure it's okay. We sit down and Riley lays on my shoulder. I smile a little and music starts playing while the seats get full. After the first two songs, the guy with blue eyes looks around the crowd. He picks up the microphone from the stand. "Wow." He says, "There's a lot of people here." The drummer, who looks a little bit older than the lead singer, gets up and walks towards the front of the stage. He looks at me, then at Riley and smiles. "There's a lot of beautiful faces in this huge crowd. I've been back there playing the drums and I couldn't see how beautiful you are." The drummer begins, "I'm Zach, also known as the Drummer." The guitarist gets up and walks towards the front of the stage. "Noah, and I agree that you all are beautiful." He says. "And that leaves me. I'm Joshua, the lead singer." Joshua winks at Riley and she smiles. I can tell this is gonna be a long night...

Riley's POV
The concert was insane! Joshua sang so good. I've been friends with Joshua for a while before I came to this school. Maya has been trying to make the boys here see that I'm hers and only hers, I could tell she was jealous of Joshua.

The music fades out and Joshua starts talking again, "Thanks Guys for coming! I had so much fun with this crowd! I can't believe how many people came here, I hope you liked our performance! This has been The Goners." Joshua comes off the stage and walks towards me, Maya tugs me close to her with her arm around mine. "Hey! Riley, right? I can't believe I get to see you again!" Joshua says and tries to give me a hug. "Back off buddy, she's mine." Maya demands. "Woh... you must be Maya. Hey... I'm.." He says, but Maya interrupts, "Joshua, yeah I know you said your name up there and winked at my girl." Joshua laughs. "Riley's a good friend of mine." He says. He then looks at Riley and smiles.

RILEY AND JOSHUA ARE FRIENDS?
