I stare anxiously at the laptop screen, waiting. I'm ready for my date with Nathan. Jack let me home half hour early so I could have a shower and stuff.

The blue screen on the laptop changes into a fuzzy picture. The picture slowly focuses and I can feel my heart closing in on itself.

"Lydia.." I smile. Taking in all of her. She looks so much better. Her hair is a soft chocolate brown colour and her eyes look so much brighter.

"Hi!" She waves down the camera. I take in her surroundings and quickly realise she isn't at the hospital anymore.

"So you're out of the hos- Wait a second. Are you in my bedroom?" I laugh, looking at the familiar brown wall and double bed behind Lydia.

"Maybe." She giggles.

"I've missed you so much, Lydia. How are you feeling?" I quickly ask.

"A lot better. I got released last week. But dad won't let me out of bed." She sighs.

"What about mum?" I question.

"Well- um- Mum, she's kind of-"

"Out with Karen, love." Dad pops into the camera. I feel the smile on my face get even bigger if that's even possible. I notice a glimmer of something in Lydia's eyes, but she immediately pulls a smile back onto her lips and that look in her eyes goes quicker than it came.

"Dad.." I breathe. "It's so good to see you. Kind of." I chuckle.

"You too, sweetheart. We miss you so much."

"How come Mum has gone out? She never goes out." I question, while looking around the laptop screen at my old bedroom. Nothing has changed from what I can see.

"Uh.. It's Lizzy's birthday." He says slowly, looking to Lydia for what seems like help.

"Who's Lizzy?"

"T-the woman who lives next door to, uh, Karen." Lydia stutters slightly. Something isn't right here, they look like they don't even know what they're saying. Not to mention Lydia is stuttering, something I've learnt she does when she's nervous.

"If there was something wrong, you would tell me. Wouldn't you?" I ask carefully.

"Of course, sweetheart." My dad smiles. "I'm just going to leave you two to catch up a little. Speak soon, princess."

"Dad.." I whine. Not liking the fact he's calling me princess.

"Speak soon, love." He laughs, I hear the the bedroom door shut and Lydia looks back towards me.

"Where are you anyway? It doesn't look like where you were staying last time we spoke." Shit.

"I'm- uh- actually staying over at my friend Jacks house." I smile.

"Jack?" Her eyebrow raises.

"Yeah, wanna meet him?" She nods hesitantly. "Jack!?" I yell, facing his bedroom door.

"What?" He pokes his head out of the door slightly.

"Come and meet my sister please?" I ask.

"The one that-"
