*Flashback Dream*

"Lucy?" Nathan whispered.

"What?" I whispered back.

"Hi.." He giggled. I flicked his nose and chuckled at him.

"CAKE!" Karen shouted. Me and Nathan quickly looked at each other and ran towards the kitchen. Sat on the table was a birthday cake that had a number 10 candle on it. It was Nathan's 10th birthday party and loads of people were here. Karen lit the candle with a safety lighter and dimmed the lights.

"Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday dear Nathan.
Happy birthday to you!"

Everyone sung in sync. I wrapped my arms around Nathan's neck playfully and rested my head on his shoulder. He was my best friend.

"Happy birthday snot face." I giggled at him.

"Thanks ugly." I giggled at his response and watched him blow his candle out as I removed my arms from around him. I took a packet of my sweets out of my pocket and unwrapped them, revealing a sweet that said 'best friend' on it in a heart.

"Here.." I smiled, placing it in the palm of his hand.

"What's this?" He asked, grinning down at the sweet.

"A token of our friendship." I said cheesily,

"Say cheese!" Karen yelled out. Nathan kissed my cheek as the camera went off. Everyone 'aww'd' as I blushed slightly as Nathan giggled.

"Come on Luce." Nathan calls out as he ran out to the back garden. I followed him out as we bumped into a little boy about his age, maybe a little older.

"Nathan booooooy.." This boy said intimatingly.

"Hi Josh." Nathan resorted. He left my side and joined his.

"Um- Nathan. You coming to have Cake?" I asked him sweetly, slightly scared of this josh.

"No." He replied bluntly. "I'm staying with Josh." Josh grinned before whispering something into Nathan's ear. Nathan looked a little shocked of what he was saying then nodded to agree with him. Nathan took a step towards me and pushed me over, causing me to fall into the mud. Him and Josh started laughing while Nathan threw the sweet that said 'best friend' on it that I had given him and smirked back at me. I felt myself getting upset.

"Is little Lucy getting upset?" Josh joked with Nathan.

"We're supposed to be best friends?" I told Nathan as my bottom lip trembled.

"Ew. No. Who would want to be friends with you." He told me harshly while he kicked a bit of the dirt, that I was laying on from where he previously pushed me, over me. I felt a tear escape and fell down my cheek as I got up an walked back into the house.

"Bitch!" Josh called after me. No one has ever called me that before. I felt myself getting more upset and my walk began to speed up.

I ran up to Karen and wrapped my arms around her and cried into her chest as she coed me.

"Everything will me Ok." She hushed.

*Flashback dream over*

My eyes fluttered open and the first thing I noticed was that tv has put itself on standbye. I sat up quickly and looked at the clock. 3pm? Lydia should be home soon. I ran upstairs and into my mums room and searched the wardrobe for a box of photos.

I came across a little blue box and quickly pulled it out of the wardrobe putting it on the floor. I sat down on the floor, crossing my legs and looked through the photos.

One of me and Lydia in the bath. Oh mum.

One of Lydia on dads shoulders.

One of the four of us on mine and Lydia's first holiday.

One of me and Karen.

There is was. The photo of me and Nathan. From his 10th birthday. Kissing me on the cheek. My nose was scrunched together like a little mouse and Nathan's hand was in mine. How cute.

That was the day I promised myself that I would never forgive Nathan for what he did to me. That I would always hate him. I've never really remembered why we hated other so much, until that dream.

I never really understood why he did it. Why he was so mean to me. I was only 9; he hurt me a lot. I put the photo to one side and put the rest of the photos in the box and back in the wardrobe.

I took hold of the picture once more and took it to my room with me. I examined the picture a little more while sitting down on my bed.

We looked so happy.

I was about to put it under my pillow when I saw something in the corner of the picture. It was that little josh kid. That boy who turned Nathan against me. He was staring at me and Nathan, with a grin on his face. I never did see him again after that day. Glad I didn't.

"Lucy?" Lydia banged through the door causing me to jump out my skin. I placed the photo under my pillow and looked back towards her.

"What have I told you about that Lydia! Jumped a mile," I complained to her while she just giggled, shutting the door behind her.

"Do you want the good news or bad news first?" She asked, taking a seat on my bed. Oh great, bad news?

"Good?" I said slowly.

"There's a collage party tonight and me and you are going."

"But I was going to go to the gym." I whinned.

"Fuck the gym."

"Yeah, ok. Whatever, what's the bad news?" I asked swifty.

"It's about Nora and Nathan." I clenched my jaw and nodded for her to carry on. "I think she's only with him for his money." I was in complete shock. Who would want to be with him for the money? He's hot. He can be nice when he wants to be and- wait? What am I saying.

"How do you know?" I asked, relaxing a little.

"Her exact words were "He's really good looking isn't he? Besides he can buy me anything I want. If he doesn't, I'll just leave him"" My mouth dropped open.

"Is she going to be at this party?" She nodded while standing up.

"She's bringing Nathan." She told me while walking into the bathroom, I heard her putting the shower on,

"Oh great.." I muttered under my breath.

"Lucy. No scenes..." She shouted from the bathroom.

"Why? She's a gold digger the bastard bitch." I heard her giggle while poking her head around the bathroom door.

"Bastard bitch?" She questioned, giggling with one eyebrow raised.

"Yes,"

I'm going to this party tonight and going to have a little 'chat' to Nora. Should I tell Nathan? Would he believe me? He might not and hate me even more that he already does. Oh well. He deserves better than her.
