I decided to go back to Ollie's with him. I texted Darren, he said it was fine. I then rang Nancy, telling her I would be home late, just in case Darren forgot; which he probably would. She said it was fine.
I walked into the flat to see Mandy preparing a meal and Luke sitting on their blue sofa watching football. "Oh, y/n, would you like to stay for dinner? We're having my famous Spaghetti Bolognese, to celebrate Ollie getting into the football academy!" Mandy said enthusiastically. "Yes please! Do you mind?" I asked wondering if Mandy had made enough. "Of course! There's plenty here!" She said as if reading my mind.
While we waited for the meal to be prepared, Ollie showed me his bedroom. There were white walls and one green one with a wooden floor and football buntin and posters. As soon as I walked in I spotted a keyboard. "I didn't know you played!" I exclaimed. He sat on his bed and looked at the keyboard with a dull expression.
"Oh, I don't. I got it when I was eight and when I came to live here, my mum bought it with some other stuff. She thought it would be good for me to learn something that isn't football," he joked. I laughed and then sat on the chair in front of the keyboard.
I started to play. My fingers flowed across the keys as I played 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight' (Has nothing to do with the story, I just like the song).
"Wow y/n, you're really good!" Ollie said kindly. "Oh, thanks. I used to take a few lessons," I said shyly. I hope I wasn't blushing.
Suddenly, Luke called us in. We went in and sat at the table. The food was absolutely amazing! I continuously complemented Mandy.
Finally, it was time for me to go. Ollie kept offering to walk me back, but I denied since I think I pretty much knew my way around the village now. I said goodnight to them and gave Ollie one last hug, congratulating him again. Eventually, I was walking home in the pitch black streets. I hadn't realized how dark it was.
I cut through an alleyway, because it was quicker when suddenly I heard footsteps come behind me as I was pushed to the cold, concrete floor. I hit my head, re-opening my gash from when I had first met Ollie. I yelped at the sudden pain. I looked up, but couldn't see who the person was. All I saw was a black jumper, and a black scarf covering most of their face.
Lying on the ground, I was suddenly kicked in the stomach. Then in the back. Then in the arm. I was kicked and kicked continuously. I had a bloody face and a lot of bruises. I felt them kneel down next to me. They grabbed my hair and lifted my head up to whisper in my ear.
"You don't belong here. Who would want you? Fat, ugly, pathetic, useless. You really think Ollie could like you? He thinks you're disgusting. You don't even have any parents to comfort you. You're just a useless foster kid with no family."
They threw my head back to the ground, as I lay there, silently crying in pain. The scarf they wore was over their mouth so I couldn't tell of they were male or female. They ran away.
I lay on the ground, crying. I was in so much pain. I couldn't move. I couldn't speak or shout for help. I just lay there on the ground, barely conscious. Then I heard footsteps. I closed my eyes tightly, thinking the person had come back.
Then I heard a familiar voice call out my name.
"Y/n!"
