-Y/n's POV-
I was about to make my way to the door of the academy to meet Ollie until I saw him run out. He was wearing shorts. That's odd. They played in their tracksuit bottoms when they were at the academy.
"Ollie, hey," I waved as he ran up to me. "Hey, lets go," he grabbed my hand and pulled me away from the academy. His voice was shaky and so were his hands.
When we were on the dock by 'The Dog In The Pond' he pulled out his phone.
-Ollie's POV-
I dialled Dad's number as quickly as possible. Y/n walked by my side in silence. I put my phone to my ear. No answer. "Dad, where are you? Right, I need to see you. It's important," I said, ending the message for his voicemail. I really needed him to pick up.
I put my phone down and looked around. I saw Buster dressed in black smartwear, checking his watch. I quickly grabbed y/n's hand and pulled her along, going as quickly as possible.
"Ollie, are you okay?" She asked me. I looked back and saw Buster was out of sight. I stopped and sat on a bench. "Yea," I lied. All she did was nod, deciding not to question me.
I walked her home and gave her a kiss goodbye, finally walking home myself.
I unlocked the door and walked in, only to see Dad passed out on the sofa with a bottle of vodka in his hands.
"Dad?" I asked, seeing if he would wake up. His eyes flickered open "Here he is, boy wonder," he complimented. This was the last thing I needed.
"Have you been drinking again? You promised me you were done with this!" I accused.
"I just had the one drink. Things didn't go very well at the restaurant today, I needed something to take the edge off," he replied."Well, what happened to staying on side? Or does that not apply to you?! I mean, I didn't want to go training in the first place, but you made me!" I shouted.
"I'm sorry, alright? I'm a screw up... I didn't want you to miss training because I don't want you to end up a failure like me, alright?!" Dad shouted.
He started to sob into his hands. I walked up to him and sat on the arm of the sofa. "You're not a failure," I reassured him.
"Look at me. I can't even hold down a couple of shifts at a restaurant. I was supposed to have it all Ollie. The flash cars, the big mansion in Cheshire. But I'm nothing. I'm a nobody. And that's why you've got to keep playing. You've got to achieve what I couldn't achieve," he cried.
"But what-what if I can't?" I stuttered. "You can. I'm so proud of you for even making the academy. That's just the start for you. I can feel it. You're gonna hit the big time. You're gonna be the making of this family," I started to tear up.
"You alright, son?" He asked.
"Yea. All I want to do is make you proud of me, Dad," I replied. A tear rolled down my cheek. He pulled me in for a long hug. I couldn't tell him about Buster. Not now. Not yet.
