-Y/n's POV-

Ollie and I walked back to the village. He took me home, then I went straight to my room and fell asleep.

Today was the day of Luke's birthday. I was so excited to wear my new dress. Nancy, Darren and I watched movies until we decided it was time to get ready. Nancy did my hair and makeup. Finally I got into my dress.

-Ollie's POV-

Mandy sent me to the shop for some last minute party decorations. I reached forward to grab some balloons when Mum came round the aisle.

"I suppose your evil stepmother sent you out to pick up provisions for the big do?!" She joked. I laughed a little yet was still angry at what she had said to y/n.

"She's not evil," I replied. She looked around. "You're entitled to your opinion, I suppose. Even if it is wrong," she teased. I rolled my eyes.

"You know? I am suprised the party's still happening, to be honest. It was pretty awkward between Dad and Mandy earlier," I said. They hadn't spoken to each other all morning.

"Must be all the adoption stuff," I added. "Or, it might be something to do with the fact that me and your Dad were kissing last night?" She retorted. My face dropped.

"Why would you do that?!" I asked. "Why do you think? Passion! The heat of the moment! And because I want him back," she said.

"Yea, but... You're going to mess everything up, and I like living with Mandy and Ella. And something amazing happened yesterday!" I said. I thought back to the kiss I had shared with y/n.

"Well, it can't be that perfect, you called me to come and get you," she said. I rolled my eyes again. "I was just having a bad day," I replied. "Usually it's alright," I added to my previous comment.

"Yea, for now!" Mum continued. "They're never going to last. Mandy won't even let your Dad adopt Ella. Does that sound like two people in love to you? Can't you imagine it, babe? The original trio, having a laugh round the table, tucking in to a Sunday Roast!"

"I just think it's a really bad idea Mum," I replied. I honestly wasn't quite sure what to do. "Well, you won't be saying that when the three of us are back together again. The way it was meant to be. All we need to do is get rid of his halfwit wife," she finished and pushed past me.

I went to the counter where I was greeted by Simone Loveday, payed for the balloons and left the shop.
