Frank came back to the statue with Xander, along with the rest of the group.

"Utterly impossible.", he said, "I don't know how to change people into mermaids."

"What about turning mermaids into people?", Kurt asked.

"Are you crazy? I'm not growing legs.", Zoey shuddered, "I heard those things grow hair."

"I'm not going up there either. Mom'd freak.", Leo followed.

"Well, I'm not going up there alone.", Charles said.

"I'll go with you, Charles.", Frank sighed.

Xander gave Frank a concerned look, "Are you sure? You remember last time-"

"I'm going.", Frank nodded, smiling at Charles, "Somebody has to be able to stop Charles from hypnotizing people."

Charles punched Frank's shoulder, "Thanks."

"Now I'll have to warn you, the process is quick, but extremely painful.", Xander said.

"As long as the pain goes away fast, and I can change back.", Charles replied.

"It doesn't.", Frank muttered.

"What?"

"What?"

"Just close your eyes and count to five.", Xander said, sprinkling dust onto Charles' and Frank's tails.

"One, two, three-"

An antagonizing pain struck Charles' tail. Although Frank could stomach the pain, Charles screamed like a banshee. Kurt took out two pairs of pants from his duffle-bag inside his tent.

"Have fun.", Xander said, smiling politely before leaving.

~

Charles tried to ignore the pain as he, Frank, and Kurt walked down the street. "How're you holding up?", Kurt asked.

"Great..", Charles lied.

"My dad's reserved a place at The Boheme, it's a fancy restaurant we used to go to when he wanted to cheer me up. I'm sure he won't mind me bringing you two."

"I thought your parents were mean to you.", Frank spoke.

"That's just my mom.", Kurt replied.

~
(So many skips I'm sorry-)

The three finally made it to a street corner where a sign read "The Boheme".

"This place doesn't look so fancy.", Frank commented.

"Well it's fancy on the inside, and that's what matters.", Kurt replied.

"Aw.", Charles smiled.

Kurt looked down, "Yeah."

"Hey, I'm sorry I'm late.", a man who looked like a taller version of Kurt walked up to the group.

"It's fine.", Kurt beamed, "This is my father. Dad, these are my friends, Charles and Frank."

"Salutations.", Frank introduced.

"Hi.", Charles said.

"Nice to meet you both. I'm sure nobody'll mind if you guys come with us.", Kurt's father offered.

"Thanks.", Charles replied, Frank following.

The group sat down at their decently sized table and waited.

"Hey Frank, are you cold?", Charles asked

"No.", Frank quickly answered.

"Oh", Charles let out a soft chuckle, "you were just shivering there and I got concer-"

"I've been in missions in the Arctic Circle. I've survived one of the worst blizzards the mermaids in the seven seas have ever encountered. Rabid seals, savage polar bears, frigid ice. When I think of the comrades I've lost, my friends and family, that leaves me colder than any external setting."

The table was quiet.

"Okay.", Kurt spoke, "Good to know, soldier."

Frank nodded.

"Hey, I'm Griffin, I'll be your waiter this evening."

Griffin was about average in stature, with tawny brown eyes and hair that was dyed red at the tips.

Frank smiled at him, giving him a knowing look.

Although it was for a second, Griffin exchanged the look.

The evening soon came to an end, and Charles was about to return home, when he realized

Frank was gone.
